Do you believe God plans for his kids to work hard at life?

I remember being driven to a Christian worship event by a friend from school, she told me her father was previously a Hindu and made a ton of money in an office job and in fact he made so much money, he used to take bags of money and put it into the garbage bin after work. He was afraid to give it away cause he might get assaulted, killed, or robbed if people find out he is rich.

Later he got a disease, and a Christian cured him by praying for him, so over time, his family converted to Christianity, and once he became a Christian, she told me, God told her father to quit his high paying job, and do home renovations instead. So he quit his job, learned to do home renovations, and now he and his wife do home renovations with their kids for a living.

They are still financially fortunate and wealthy, but their job is far more difficult and tiresome now than it was back in his Hindu days when he worked in an office for a living and made so much money that he had to throw it into the garbage bin after work.
