Should we clone Jesus?
Thoughts?
Oh Poppy, you damned joker. A far better question still than you imagine yourself.
Although the Turin shroud seems to date back to the Middle Ages, let's nevertheless imagine the blood to be indeed that of Jesus. The situation would be similar actually to that of Mozart, if by any chance some DNA would've been found.
Those two geniuses were born in particular periods in particular circumstances that led them to their particular activities in life. The persons born out of a DNA samples may indeed have the same DNA as the historical versions, the circumstances would still be very different.
Considering a person has actually a variety of things and jobs that could fit their personality, odds are very high we would be disappointed in our expectations.
The cloned Jesus and Mozart would maybe prefer becoming rockstars... You know, culture, century, climat change, Gagarin, Apolo 11, deep space telescopes, etc. Such knowledge would have had an influence on their options and choices in life.
Pro life: we will not get Jesus himself, but it would end speculations of how he looked like :)
@andreasderjuengere That's probably true, but would people believe he's a genuine clone of the historical Jesus? The dude would still have to deal with life in our era as all our contemporaries ;0)
As for me I’m not a religious person however out of respect for those who are I’m going to have to say cloning Jesus wouldn’t be the right thing to do. A lot of people look up to Jesus & if Jesus were to be cloned what would happen if Jesus 2.0 turns out to be a real asshole that people don’t like? They’ll crucify him & history could change.
If you close Jesus maybe they can clone the devil too.
Even if that Turin shroud thing were true, it's unlikely that we have a truly viable DNA sample. DNA samples have to have been preserved in very specific ways to be viable.
Cloning humans is fairly immoral to begin with, so no.
Also, humans are capable of a lot of things that Christianity considers blasphemy, so it's hardly a sound argument even theologically.
Yepp- knowing the ways of the Catholic church, the thing we clone could turn out to be a goat :D
@andreasderjuengere so true lol, most religious artifacts aren't real (even to the extent of being historical as opposed to like "containing godly power" or whatever)
I think that piece of toast sold on ebay a few years back has fresher DNA. But I agree. He supposedly gave us the brains and the science.. well, no longer available in America, but maybe other countries. Denmark is wracking the smart peeps up. Dig in there. Create us a holy man baby in a silicon womb. He's waiting.

Jesus is a fantasy superhero who never existed so, cloning ain't gonna work on fantasy DNA of a fake God no matter how much cultists wanna believe. And what do humans know of cloning Gods from DNA? We usually just make them up while sitting around a campfire.
LOL, human cloning is banned. But even if not, it's not possible to clone from degraded blood as it oxidises quickly and the DNA in the cells becomes unrecoverable.
It's why you preserve semen and eggs, to potentially have babies in the future, not blood.
So you rise and fall on your face, at the first step.
Wouldn't achieve anything. The religious have an actual festering hatred for reality, and if someone actually attempted to make any part of their religious beliefs real, they'd just deny it. Everyone would just reject the clone as "not the real thing". Heck, it would probably end up murdered by religious fanatics without even understanding why.
cloning doesn't re create the same person. it's gonna be an entirely new person just with the same genes. on the opic of genes: i think we should find his dads genes and see if actually god wasn't jesuses father cause that's way more likely than this billshit about virgin birth.
Wait.
If we successfully clone Jesus, it means we're cloning God the Son. If we have the skills to clone God, and bring him back to life... Then we are God. If we are God, then do we really need Jesus? What for?
Carbon dating suggests the Shroud is only about 700 years old, so even if it were possibly to lift viable DNA for cloning, we'd probably just get some medieval snake oil salesman, rather than Jesus.
We should bring this guy back instead

If Jesus really is God, then there's no way that we would be able to clone him if it's not his own will.
A Jesus clone would probably have genetic imperfections and might even be evil. Maybe try a few more mice first.
Clone him then ghost him. Let’s see how he likes being abandoned.
Those who seek him will find him
Nah. He’s coming back sooner or later.
What’s the rush?
Girl!🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ that question sounds just soo...
Some things are better left in the past, whether one thinks Jesus was real or a only a myth.
No, he'd be treated like the Gazan people as he's not a capitalist
The shroud of turin is a proven hoax. It is a primitive photograph using two bodies. One for the head the other for the body.
Well, aside from the fact that the shroud of Turin was absolutely not used to wrap Jesus. If we pretend that it was, I'd say sure. Why not?
Not possible, nor should it be done! Just because something is possible; doesn't mean you should do it!
I can jump off a cliff, but I won't be doing it anytime soon!
I don't think God the Father would allow this.
Does this world have enough time left to wait for him to grow up?
Bring people back to life. what are we evanescence?
Even if it were possible, I don't think the Lord would allow it to happen. Only HE knows when He will need to return. I think that all we would get is a deception of some sort.
It's more likely that we are going to clone the dinosaurs, they actually existed.
do you think he wants to return here? :D
@Jennz6 I'm not so sure... if he wanted, he would have done it... right?
if he existed he was only an actor as religion is a load of bollox
not possible. dna degrades and reconstruction attempts would be... reconstruction attempts
Sure, we could always use more Mexicans!
😂😂
I don't WANT a twin.
I think that would change his definition
I wasn't aware his DNA is available
Sac Religious
i swear christianity dont make sense
I'd rather clone buxom young broads !!!
Nope.
He can't be
nah we shouldn't
Lol what?
