Religion is indeed important
I don't believe in any religion

Trending & News restraint, no way. This is not like, "someone said trump was the worst thing to happen to america" so "i get so mad i wanna kill him... but god is watching"... that just does not happen!
Or i wanna park in a handicap spot but god is watching... or I want that shirt without paying, but god is watching. It does not work that way.
those who do shop lift might stop if they believed in god. Those who stop believing in god might start stealing. "Who said i can't!"
A different meaning of restraint is "i feel restrained not to sleep with her before wedding" that can feel frustrating.
All religions give purpose, but a problem is "which purpose to choose." Is my purpose to pray 5 times a day to allah or 3 times a day to adonai?
Religions have ceremony that give a purpose: to "obey the religion " but people need to think if that purpose is their purpose!
Atheists emphasize "nothing matters and no purpose" which coincided with depression thoughts!
My vote in your poll is "faith is important "
Religion is a lot more than that, kiddo.
It's like saying "attending university makes you the expert at life, jobs, and your chosen field". When in fact it's not true in the least.
University is a part of the learning and disciplining process, but it's the individual that needs to do the work. Not simply wave a paper he got from the university.
Spiritual life is important, not religion
Some people use religion to hurt people
Especially when they don't follow rituals
Everyone has their own journey
It needs to be some room for understanding and relationship

Depends on how you define "living freely".
Yes, it does provide restraint, as it should, in some aspects of life and to certain degrees.
As for purpose and meaning, yes, it most certainly does.
If you need religion to be kind to others, you are not a kind person.
I do, but I don't give by beliefs into target practice.
I'm not religious. I just try to treat people how I would want to be treated and not be a piece of shit. I already know what my purpose is.
