My friend said God might let you suffer to make you stronger and more emotionally independent so you can be less needy and reliant, thoughts?

I had a problem at 19 and the consequences were obvious for me:

Which is that I lost all fear of human beings, and went from being a coward that was afraid of not being liked, to being an emotionally independent person who could go months or years without social contact and not become lonely. People would accuse me of showing off when I did so many things on my own without joining the crowds or following the crowds around me.

I later had another problem and the consequences of that were also obvious, which is that after the problem, God gave me a blessing that changed many things in my life for the better.

I later had two other issues and I do not yet know what rewards God will give me for those things, but I believe God gave me those issues for a productive and beneficial reason that I will one day figure out.

My friend said God might let you suffer to make you stronger and more emotionally independent so you can be less needy and reliant, thoughts?
