Halloween may seem like just a fun night of costumes, candy, and parties — but its origins are actually much older and deeper than most people think.
It started over 2,000 years ago with the ancient Celtic festival called Samhain, when people believed the boundary between the living and the dead was blurred. Later, the Christian church introduced All Saints’ Day (All Hallows’ Day) on November 1, and the evening before became All Hallows’ Eve, which eventually turned into “Halloween.”
Over time, the traditions evolved — jack-o’-lanterns, trick-or-treating, and costume parties all came from different parts of history and culture.
Today, it’s celebrated around the world as a time for fun, creativity, and a little bit of spooky magic.
So I’m curious
