Jesus said if you flaunt your charity, prayer, or fasting, you lose your reward. Thoughts?

The Islamic populations fast between 30-40 days in a group period every year, and many of them do not seem to get solutions to the requests they offer to God.

South Asian Polytheists Will often fast for marital blessings before their arranged marriages, or for children, when they have difficulty producing them, and great numbers of them get answers to their prayers.

I think it is because Jesus said public fasting, done for honour and social acceptance, does not get rewarded, unless you are quiet and secretive about it.

The key point is flaunt or the intent to show off. If you show off your deeds then the rewards reflect. Many cultures and groups fast. Because its known does not mean they flaunt. Its the sacrifice only the soul and the creator know. Prayer is a connection so to flaunt that seems pointless. Because in true prayer you’re oblivious to what is around you. Charity is the only thing that you can claim in flaunt. People give for the sake of being noticed. But wise words once said “ the left hand shouldn't know what the right hand gave” if you give for the purpose if giving then no one should know
