Does God ever heal you gradually instead of all at once?

I believe God is healing 4 medical conditions in my body right now, and one of the healings has taken over 5 years while another one of the healings has taken over 10 years. Another one has taken less than a week.

Gradual, it's smaller things that I eventually grow to discern and understand a bit. I find that I have to work hard for my blessings, they don't fall on my lap.
