4 moThe idea of the biblical end times comes from Apocalyptic/Sadducee Jewish thought. It goes back hundreds of years before Jesus. End times didn't happen then.
The original Jesus movement believed that the end times would happen within their generation after the crucifixion. Still didn't happen.
Roman Christians thought that the fall of Rome signaled the end times. Didn't happen then either.
And so on and so on and so on.
Start reading the writing on the wall with these false alarms.

5 moYes and no.
Realistically, eventually humans will go extinct just due to the Law of Entropy plus the fact the Sun will burn out in about 5 billion years and the Milky Way will merge with Andromeda also in about 5 billion years, forming a Binar Quasar, which should kill all life in the Galaxy around that time due to insane amounts of gamma radiation non-stop for a few billion years.
In terms of "end time prophecy" there is no such thing. that is a New Testament myth. The Book of Genesis, in chapters 8 and 9, God promises there would be a "perpetual number of generations of humans right here on the Earth" and it would go on as long as the earth remains, which our best modern science calculates Earth should be destroyed by the Sun in about 5 or 5.5 billion years.
If future humans don't find a way to move to another galaxy before then, then sure, they'll go extinct due to the gamma radiation from Galactic Merger.
00 Replyww3 and the nuclear near apocalypse is probably coming in the next decades. and if not we'll be proably living in a cyberpunk dystopian hellhole where we're all playthings for trillionaire tech ceo autocrats. we're pretty cooked at this point, i personally have little hope for the future at the rate things are going

Like the new running man film!
I don't think we are getting further away , so therefore we must be getting closer , we run on a fantasy of growth , and productivity improvement , neither can continue for ever , wider the gap between rich and poor closer we get to increased volitility , and hence closer to the end..
00 Reply466 opinions shared on Religion & Spirituality topic. End of humanity we know? ... yes
End of times? nope
Universe will still exits at least 200 billion years until all energy turns in long wave photons which don't contain much energy and barely interact with anything. End of baryonic universe will be cold, dark and very long process, no being will remember humanity and no trace of humanity remains until then.00 Reply- 525 opinions shared on Religion & Spirituality topic.
5 moLike every species, the human species will eventually come to an end. Every hour, minute and second that goes by moves humanity closer to its end.
Scientifically, that shouldn't happen for many centuries.
Religious believers feel it will happen sooner.
00 Reply Yes. LGBT, debts, feminism, disobedience of children towards their parents. Disobedience of wives towards their husbands, etc.
Everything is falling apart.
00 Reply1.8K opinions shared on Religion & Spirituality topic. We are, its getting obnoxious even. Everything I like is being corrupted in some way or another. We loose more and more liberties and people just put up with it.

5 moPeople say that since about 1000 years already.
Myself, I think that it's irrelevant because nothing can be changed about it.
Instead, I think that we're getting closer to next pay-day.00 Reply our time yes, the end of time, no. every day we are getting closer to our expiration date, but the world was ok before us, and it will be ok after we are gone.

u 5 moEntirely possible. All I know is that today, we are one day closer than we were yesterday and tomorrow, we'll be one day closer than today.
00 Reply Things are certainly getting more unhinged. If you pay any real heed to it you would lose your sanity.

5 moIf the end of times is in the future, then yes, by definition, we're getting closer to it.
That's how time works.
20 ReplyNo we're not, the end times is just a hoax set by Christians to scare us. The end times won't happen and it never will, you should stop believing such lies and come back to reality, but it's your life so choose your path.
20 ReplyBy default, sure. Basic passage of time... every moment is one less moment we have.

Anonymous(30-35)5 moWell, if there is going to be an end of times (which there is no clear proof of), each day that passes is a day closer to it. But that doesn't mean we are close by any means. People have been claiming the end is near for millennia.
00 ReplyTime is fake. As fake as main stream media. Each generation swears their time as come. But doomsday starts when we kill the sun. Son. (They) have killed God's son twice now but we still persist.

Opinion Owner5 mo@Cute_User513 The planet isn't going anywhere despite alarmists, and it would be hard to kill an entire species, there will always be some remnants no matter what. The question will be, who will re-invent the telephone when they're starting over?
