@permanentem reminds me of that video 12 hours in new york where a model walked through new york while being filmed secretly to demonstrate and document the problem of sexual harassment in new york city. Liberals held it up as an example of the problem of misogyny in America but quickly dropped it and took the video down after it was realised that every single man they captured cat calling was black or Hispanic.
It's pretty easy. Most "christians" are not real believers in God. At best, they attend church, but they have never read two entire books in the Bible even one time in their lives. If they had, they would know that Mardi Gras is a pagan festival which has no business being observed by people who claim to believe in the One True God.
Most "Christians" who do attend church are part of a false doctrine which claims you can sin all you want and still go to heaven because Jesus died on a cross that one time.

Is the Bible Belt really a bastion of morality? One of them.
How can people in the American Bible Belt claim they’re morally superior to others.
We can't. Its a sin.
1 Corinthians 12:12“Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ.” — 1 Corinthians 12:12
I am always suspicious of the bible thumpers.
Or perhaps one is confusing disjoint groups. "Bible Belt" no more describes every person living therein than is every Blue or Red state monolithic with every voter behaving the same.
Hmmm... seems to be a bit of hypocrisy going on, one might say? LOL
Because they are fairly stupid.
Guns. Lots of guns.
