I mean God protects this is true but remember his love is unconditional and so compassion or no compassion he will still be there for you.
The cross is not limited to a certain way but is for all who sinned that they may be saved - if you believe in him ofc.

Maybe refer me to a particular Bible verse...

I will not pretend to understand the bible in the least. I believe I show compassion for everyone to some degree yet the same bible that would have God protect me for that would also have me killed for my beliefs?

I wouldn't rely too much on God's protection, but you will have fewer enemies.
