Does the Bible’s teaching on kindness apply to Trump supporters today?

The reason America used to be a wealthy nation, was that they sent their soldiers to die to save the lives of those being attacked by cruel world leaders in World War II. America was not obligated to fight but fought anyway because they wanted to protect innocent strangers from harm. That is why America became rich. Now people are voting for murder, torture and political neglect because they want a lower tax bill so they can eat more oysters and steak during their weekends, and that is why America is becoming poor again.
