It’s a near certainty. The “circle of life” lays it out in its simplest form. We are composed of both matter and energy. Two fundamentals of physics dictate that matter and energy can neither be created nor destroyed, but they can change forms. So when we die, our matter and energy become different things. At least they should. Modern embalming techniques actually remove us from the proper circle of life. The way it’s supposed to go is something like the following. You’re born, you live. Through the course of your life you kill things and consume them so that you can go on living. You eventually die anyway. You become food for one or more other things, ultimately carrion bugs and worms. You become a part of them. Then you become poop. The plants feed off of you. You become a part of the plants. Then those plants are eaten, and you become a part of those animals. Then those animals have offspring and in a way you become a part of those. And so on.
For all of eternity, you will never be nothing.



Whether or not we become new people, or other living things in any kind of specific form is debatable.

I believe the soul is eternal unless its condemned to spiritual death at judgment. If your soul is recycled, you do not have recollections of prior life except possibly positive attitudes that lined up in God's plan. John Constantine may be an example.

The universe is a simulation, your program will be reused but you won't have access to backups of your former runs.
It's irrelevant what you wish now. If you will be reincarnated as human it's statistically likely you will be rebooted in India as some low cast individual or somewhere in Africa where your program ends before you gain full consciousness or you won't be capable to gain one due genetic deficits affecting intellectual functions.
