I have never observed the term “Mother Nature” used in a context that suggests any kind of autonomous or sentient entity. It’s just a random colloquialism tying the circle of life to women because they are perceived as the life givers.
It’s no different than “Father Time”.

I do not think there is some old lady called Mother Nature that can control the weather but I think tht the earth has all kinds of feedback loops that when they are disturbed there can be unintended consequences

I beiieve in Mother Nature as a metaphor for the universe around us. Basically it's all explained by science, and if phenomenon is too complex to predict, then it's explained by "shit happens".
