What does it mean when you have a dream about the world ending?

Question

I had a dream or rather a nightmare about the world ending. One minute I was surrounded by loved ones and the next everything went completely black and the air was suffocating.

I've never had a dream about the world ending before.

Your subconscious mind is telling you that something is ending , not necessarily the whole world , and not necessarily true either , but probably a life , which could be the end of your life or someone else’s’ life as well that you are close to , as why you saw pitch black , which sadly happens to people every day. we all are going to die. I don’t want to freak ya out in anyway , but dreams can be indications of something happening or about to happen or they can mean nothing. I watched a documentary on dreams , because I had some crazy experiences with some of my dreams as well, I wish I remembered the name of it , so I could tell you to watch it , it was pretty fascinating and shocked the shit out of me , our brains absorb so much information that we don’t even know we are absorbing , it can be from things we see or sounds we hear or things we smell etc.. our bodies were designed for survival and designed to alert us if something good or bad is about to happen , it’s basically our natural instincts that sense things even though we might have no clue what the hell we are sensing. Kind of like how wild animals sense fear or how they know the weather climate is about to change . Humans have similar senses as well and we were made for survival. Have you ever soaked your hands in water for a long period of time and your hands shrivel up with wrinkles? It’s because your body is putting you in survival mode to give you a better grip to get out of the water. So our brains are designed for survival as well and alertness , why we have crazy dreams sometimes that we don’t clearly understand. Again I don’t want to scare you and hope it’s just a dream you had that means nothing , but our subconscious mind is a fascinating thing if you think about it. After I saw that show , I started writing down some of my dreams so I won’t forget , and by doing that some of the things i experienced in reality matched up with those dreams. Try it out , you have nothing to lose.

You probably have some unresolved anxiety about the state of the world lately. I highly recommend unplugging indefinitely until you can reconnect with your baseline. Literally “touch grass”. Go for a barefoot walk in a nice park. Do some gardening. Call up a friend or relative who always makes you laugh and spend real face time with them, nothing digital!

I had a similar dream, but it didn’t get to the end of the world. I saw bombs dropping and explosions all around. I ran toward a building that i thought might have some kind of bunker or fortifications. Then i realized i was dreaming and i shut it down.

More recently i dreamed about my own execution. It was a unique execution device that consisted of two plates. One side is where the subject is strapped down, and there are holes in the plate. The other side has long, sharp blades engineered to hit all of the major organs at the same time. The bladed plate is slowly lowered to very near the subject and then dropped so that the execution blow is swift like a guillotine.
In my dream, i was watching with fascination as the machine brought the plates closer together when i realized that i was the one strapped to the machine. Apparently having some sort of out of body experience. The bladed plate dropped, and i felt the energy drain from my body, darkness filled my eyes and emptiness filled my mind. Almost like a heavy sleep. No pain.
That’s to date the deadest i’ve ever been in a dream. It’s also curious that i never realized that i was dreaming. The stranger a dream is, the more likely that i will become lucid during the dream.

Two suggestions. What's the overall state of your consciousness? The lower your consciousness, the more you will tend to have darker dreams. How can you raise your consciousness? Usual, be careful what you consume and what you think about. For example, focus on healthier plant based foods and lessen animal products. Animal products are fine but don't over-consume them. Avoid processed foods. Natural foods that will build good gut bacteria. What are you watching, thinking about? My mum watches these awful bloody UK soaps and all that is in them these days is murder, gang banging etc. This pulls down your consciousness. Read a book, go into nature, turn off the fear pron on the news.

Now I will also say, I have had this dream, also. But it was tremendously real. I felt like I was experiencing it and then I could feel my spirit floating off as I expired. It was painless, to be fair. But I have faith in a higher power, so whatever is coming, I'm not too concerned. We live in dark times no doubt but there are also glimmers of light.

I will also say I used to watch Shunya murti on youtube. He is an excellent spiritual teacher, on point, what have you, but I do find his material too apocalyptic these days. It's not very helpful to have those kinds of ideas put in your head.

So be careful what you consume and think about.

It might mean that that you have learned everything that you were supposed to learn from your last relationship ending and it might be time to start again
But I would want to know the whole dream before I would say this is true

It kind of depends on what happened in the beginning of the dream if there are beautiful things going on or what before you saw the end

The beginning of the dream would have more impact on what the dream was really about because you've always known that one day you would say okay I'm ready and that would be the end of the world or something important to you

And the beginning of the dream would have like a blueprint of what's going to happen or what could happen if you decide to get into a new relationship so I'm curious about that

In my interpretation it means you have anxiety and that depicts in your dreams. And of course you have anxiety, I mean look around you.

I have had similar dreams as well.

The lights are still flickering though even though the world is in a state of hell right now.

I hope you eventually feel at least a bit calmer.

I don't really trust "dream interpretations"

after over 6000 dreams+ that I can remember, of which... 3000 or so, I wrote down, and would overthink too much about them, lol

I realized that there's just not a clear correlation between dreams... and life itself

whatever else we suggest ourselves... that's ourselves, and our choice

for example... the end is no more... as much it can just be rebirth...

A lot of my dreams are in a "parallel world". Consistent from dream to dream, but there is a correspondence to daily reality. College in real life, college in dream, just a bit different, but it is a consistent difference from dream episode to dream episode. Parent's house in dream, somewhat different, but consistent from dream to dream. etc.
