From your perspective, what is the real difference between belief and faith?

i thought they were the same? i have faith in the idea because i believe it? i would not be able to hope if i did not believe it. the only difference is belief contains the word lie 'belief'. we don't say 'i believe the time is 4'. that is not proper usage. 2 i saw a

cool definition: something you believe, you would be surprised if it was wrong. like i might believe 'most people say they are depressed'. i would feel surprised if i was wrong due to my belief, despite not being certain. a fact is something real.

Faith is belief without evidence. I have beliefs, but I don't have faith. My beliefs are ultimately supported by physical evidence. I may not have seen the evidence myself, but it's been reported buy multiple observers and is consistent with my general knowledge. Consider the Shroud of Turin. I believe that it was created in the 14th century and the markings were painted on, based on widely reported test results.

Belief is a matter of accepting something as being true, whereas Faith is about commitment and trust based on past experiences and/or evidences.
