First of all, the claim that people who leave Islam are killed sounds ignorant to me. I live in Turkey, and I have many atheist friends whose families are Muslim, but none of them have been killed. In fact, many Turkish Muslims do not even pray regularly. Personally, I am almost atheist myself. I don't pray or practice Islam, my family is Muslim, and nobody forces religion on me.

Now, to answer your question, I think one reason Christianity is not growing like Islam is that in Christian-majority countries, many people are leaving Christianity and becoming atheist or non-religious. From what I see in my own country, when people leave Islam, they usually don't think, "If I'm not Muslim, I should become Christian instead." They usually become atheist or non-religious. One reason is that the Trinity in Christianity doesn't make sense to many of them. Islam also includes many parts of Christianity. Muslims believe in Jesus and respect him as a major prophet, just as they believe in Muhammad. So if someone still wants to believe in God and a divine power, Islam may make more sense to them because it also includes Jesus. If they don't want to believe in religion at all, they usually become atheist.

Another reason is that the rate of leaving religion is relatively low in many Muslim-majority countries. Turkey, for example, used to be described as around 98% Muslim, while today some estimates put it closer to 95%. It has decreased, but the large majority still identify as Muslim. Most people simply don't leave the religion they were raised with.

Christianity has a bigger problem with people leaving the religion, and Christian populations also don't grow as quickly as populations in many Muslim countries. So Christianity can remain at the same level or decline as a share of the population.

Finally, from my own observation, Christians don't seem to make much effort to spread their religion where I live. Outside western Turkey, I have hardly ever seen a church. Also, if some people in the West act arrogant, racist, or look down on Muslims, it can have the opposite effect. People are unlikely to be interested in the religion of someone who treats them as inferior.

It's called Ridda. And the Hadith specifically says "Any man that leaves the Islamic faith, kill him".
Now, the question arises, if a man is not killed for leaving Islam, is apostasy not a sin? Or are more Muslims actually Christian?

I live in secular country. Just like Christians who don't follow every rule in the Bible don't suddenly stop being Christian, Muslims who don't follow every religious rule don't magically become Christian either.

We are taught as Christians that God gives free will. The Hadith about Ridda is in direct contradiction. If what you're seeing is accurate, and people in Turkey are not being executed for apostasy, then it would be logical to assume that Muslims in Turkey are actually following the teachings of Jesus, not Muhammad.

If you ask me, the Quran itself, which Muslims believe to be the direct word of God, doesn't need to be changed. It mostly gives general moral and religious principles. But hadiths and some people's interpretations may need to be updated or reinterpreted for modern times.

For example, the Quran tells women to dress modestly, but that doesn't necessarily mean wearing a burqa. Today, modesty could simply mean wearing more conservative and less revealing clothes. Some interpretations need to adapt to modern life.

"Less people leave islam" publicly because leaving islam is a crime. So almost everyone pretends to be muslim. each scared of the other- while both are just pretending. Maybe 10% of muslims really believed.

Prove me wrong by- i am not suggesting any sin! By obeying quran 2:256 bakara "no compulsion in faith" then the few who believed will continue going to mosque each Friday day 6. We will see what 90% chose? if they don't fear anything.

America allows choice then- muslims eat pork. But that permission is not "big satan" that permission obeyed quran as above. We are the one who obey quran principle but muslim governments ignore the principle idea of: "real faith. Not pretend from fear." How did muslim addd millions? By sword and jizya tax. You know jizya?
