From the perspective that the True Creator God controls everything, then if God is in fact both Almighty and Just, then we must have deserved to be punished for our sins.

Consider this:

the Bible actually contains commandments to burn witches and Atheists at the stake, and stone alive adulteresses and homosexuals, among other groups of sinners. Yet about 400 years ago, All Christians and Jews and about half of all Muslims decided to stop obeying the Biblical commandments and just do their own thing.

It's likely we deserved 9/11 for the same reason it's likely we deserved every tornado and hurricane that has ever hit since the Salem Witch Trials were ended: Simply disobeying God, and then disobeying God's commandments about what to do when someone else disobeys, etc. It tells you in Deuteronomy 28 if you disobey God, he will personally raise up enemies against you and pretty much everything you touch or try to do will be cursed, while if you obey God you'll be blessed. I'm pretty sure nobody in New Orleans profited by Hurricane Katrina hitting nor Ida, so I'd say Louisiana at least is CURSED.

I might be the ONE person left alive on the Earth who REALLY believes that God controls everything. If other people alleging to believe in God actually believed, they'd obey God, instead of being perpetual adulterers, thievesf, rapists, murderers, homosexuals (Yes,) and whatever else they're doing contrary to naturally derivable commandments from God.

If you ask a Jewish Rabbi what you have to do to be "Saved," he is going to say you must obey the Ten Commandments.

When the Rich Young Ruler asked Jesus of Nazareth what to do to be Saved, Jesus replied "Keep the Commandments". So then the ruler said he'd done that his entire life. So Jesus told him to sell his (extra) possessions and distribute to the poor. So then the ruler evidently disobeyed Jesus and died lost.

try reading Exodus 22:18, which appears immediately after the Ten Commandments are given for the second time.

Try also reading Leviticus (the entire book) and Deuteronomy chapter 28.

You might be surprised how many acts Moses and his alleged "God' consider worthy of a death penalty of one type or another.
