There is no place for Circumcision of Babies in our society.
There are a few religions that practice this procedure one being the Jewish faith.
But did you know Circumcision of Babies in the Jewish faith could be stopped almost immediately if "The Principle of Pikuach Nefesh" was invoked by the Jewish people.
If a consensus emerged within the global Jewish Community that Circumcision is causing systemic, unnecessary harm to babies, which it is, the practice would be stopped.
There has been an Evolution of Rituals many in ancient biblical laws (such as specific forms of capital punishment or agricultural laws) are no longer practiced today because rabbinic interpretation deemed them no longer applicable or ethical in contemporary society.
Even today a growing modern movement within Judism called Brit Shalom (Covenant of Peace) or Brit Ben celebrates the welcoming of a baby boy explicitly omitting the surgical procedure.
Jewish families already choose this path without breaking their connection to their faith or identity.
Hopefully more religions and people quickly come to their senses, and the world eradicates this archaic practice.

I've been busy with my career etc., and I only discovered this barbaric practice last year, and I still can't get my head around how in this day and age, society can allow this sort of thing to happen.
It's like the Aztecs making sacrifices to appease their gods, it's so unbelievable.
There are no medical reasons for the circumcision except in very rare cases, it is Jewish propaganda.
If you believe otherwise you are mistaken.
The Circumcision of Babies should have ended in the first century AD by all the Jewish people.

i am aware and oppose. it is shocking and unbelievable. your argument of "pikua' is faulty because the parents say 'he won't die from it'.

the only way to convince parents is 'pain.'
but that rarely works. most parents dont even care their baby has pain. so need to ask 'do you care he feels pain'?

I used to know some Jewish people, well I still do they are just like anyone else, I don't know their views on circumcision of babies I didn't know to ask, they are probably against the procedure like myself.
in israel a trend is growing among jews to stay intact but no. reform encourage the cut. so probably most American jews will cut. the reasons they say are opposite of sense.
1. to 'look like me' said dad -but covered. we wear pants! zero sense.
2. as a symbol of identity. but covered. nobody will see... hopefully? not something people show?
3, for religion, also nonsense they, most jews especialy reform and conservative- so 90% jews- ignore 90% of traditional laws and 95% of bible but -selected the brutal cruel pain bloody pagan one. that is the one?
What people do when they are adults is fine with me, it's just the circumcision of babies that is barbaric.
Non-consentual circumcisions are barbaric regardless if it is for religious or aesthetic reasons. In the rare case it is for a medical necessity (and i do mean like it has to be diagnosed as an issue), then fine.
Circumcisions performed on babies otherwise is no different than cutting off their finger just because you have an affinity to the looks of The Simpsons characters.
It's all made up and only harms the child in most cases and severely mutilates them in the most extreme cases. It should be ended as a practice outside of extreme medical cases.

But you didn't have a choice in the matter, and the situation might have ended unnecessarily different for you.
You might wonder why I should care, but I do because the situation appalls me, though I'm sure your parents had to accept the situation too, because of pressure to conform.

My parents had me circumcised when I was a baby. I can barely remember it. My father had to get circumcised in his 50s. It was very painful. I had my two sons circumcised.
I have never been in the same environment as yourself, non of my ancestors have been involved.
When I was a kid, there was one kid in the crowd that was not circumcized. None of us knew what to make of it.
At school I had the same situation, but the other way around, but I didn't want to embarrass him, and ask him about it.
we sort of had a nickname for this kid.
With the kid in my class he was accepted as different but I felt sorry for him.
