As a child, 10 years seems so long. Now at age 30, it seems like 10 years ago was like yesterday.

I just learned 3 people I used to volunteer with at the rescue squad are dead. 2 out of 3 of those people were key people/high-ranking officers at the organization. Amazon jumped into the TikTok sweepstakes with a surprise last-minute play to buy the video-sharing app ahead of Saturday’s deadline for Chinese parent ByteDance to sell it or face a US ban, the White House said on Wednesday.

The e-retail giant, founded by billionaire Jeff Bezos, reportedly submitted an offer letter detailing its proposal that was addressed to Vice President JD Vance and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick.

However, key parties involved in negotiations on a potential TikTok sale “do not appear to be taking Amazon’s bid seriously,” according to The New York Times, which first reported the story.
