Amazon makes shocking last-minute bid to buy TikTok

Amazon jumped into the TikTok sweepstakes with a surprise last-minute play to buy the video-sharing app ahead of Saturday’s deadline for Chinese parent ByteDance to sell it or face a US ban, the White House said on Wednesday.

The e-retail giant, founded by billionaire Jeff Bezos, reportedly submitted an offer letter detailing its proposal that was addressed to Vice President JD Vance and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick.

However, key parties involved in negotiations on a potential TikTok sale “do not appear to be taking Amazon’s bid seriously,” according to The New York Times, which first reported the story.

Bytedance isn’t going to sell. They’ve already gone above and beyond any normal social media by putting their American data servers on American soil, which is something that facebook and twitter/X haven’t done for any foreign nations’ data. They’re not worried about what’s only 16% of their userbase when they have the rest of the world in front of them. And American politicians are reaching the point where they’re realizing their constituents would gladly have them removed rather than allow their free speech to be taken away on a non-american owned social media. They’re either going to have to nut up or shut up, because Bytedance gives zero fucks.

I hope amazon buy it because TikTok is fun but there's really graphic and horrible content on it, some days ago I saw a dead body on it... I was looking for a recipe and it showed me the most awful stuff I ever saw on internet it's horrible, also I did a test and it listen to us...

but Amazon already has ALL of my data and information, not only because of their services but also the insane amount of servers and data they store for other companies and services as well, lmao
