I sound so dismal but I feel my lack of results are simply bad luck. A lot of people have used the dating apps and had success, I’ve been on and off for a few years. I’m at the point where I don’t have the drive to actively be on them, I reply to msgs now once a day or every other day. I don’t want to hear it’s because I’m shy or my standards are too high, I’ve seen women in my same field (looks/education wise) able to attract the kind of guy I’d like so if they can I should be able to also. I get matches but the ones I like don’t like me back or the ones that want me I don’t want back. I worry sometimes I’ll be 40 and regret all these years I didn’t live it up and was so antisocial. I’m almost 30 and I worry it’s only going to go downhill as I age, physically and guys prefer younger woman. Maybe it could be my lack of sex drive contributing to being single? Honest and serious answers only please

So my boyfriend and I have been together for the last 3 years and been the best girlfriend possible for him. I sacrifice what I can/need to in order for him to be happy like spending money on gifts or whatever he needs with other things. Even though this might sound unhealthy, I went past my comfort zones/boundaries to please him. For example, he started to withhold sex because I wouldn’t get on birth control for him. I got on a method, not one he preferred, and it was fine for some time until he wanted more (the method he stated at the beginning). I told him I wasn’t comfortable with that but had to get it in order to receive anything intimate again.

recently though, he took it upon himself to purchase me a laptop that I need for graduate school which I appreciated a lot. However, he planned on buying it from a sketchy site and I begged him to buy it elsewhere. He said he wanted to do what he want, and got the laptop. I drove a long way to get it from him, and when I got home the laptop isn’t connecting to the internet which is a huge problem. Then the responsibility fell onto me to solve it when he could’ve made sure the laptop was fine while it was in his possession for a week or so. I had to drive more to a repair store and wait hours for them to tell me it cannot be fixed. I told him after and he claimed that the repair “isn’t that much,” and how I should’ve requested a cheaper laptop instead for school. I asked for the return label so I can mail it off to get a refund for him since he wasn’t going to do that and he said he was “too tired” to do so but wouldn’t give me his account information so I can do it myself. I’m not sure how to deal with this behavior or what to think of it considering how well I’ve treated him and he didn’t have to worry about a thing. Like I bought him a phone last year and it’s been working fine since. What should I do? Please explain.

I haven’t really dated anyone, I was exclusive with someone for a few months back when I was 23 and had sex but I wasn’t completely into him. I just haven’t been lucky with dating apps at all, you hear they’re terrible but some get lucky from them. I don’t have a social life or in person friends so that’s my only avenue, I really don’t think I’m bad looking I’ve been told I’m cute/attractive but I don’t get attention from guys. I get matches and msgs on the apps but it’s always the ones I want don’t want me back or the ones that want me I don’t want back. Or sometimes it just doesn’t work out, I’m exhausted and have just lost interest and motivation. I check the apps but am at the point where I have to remind myself to reply to guys because I just can’t be bothered. I’ve tried almost all the free apps and tried match too. I’m the same weight I was when I was 23 but I’m a little thicker because I guess I lost some muscle mass but worry I’m going to get saggier as time goes by and when I’m even older, I’ll look at young photos of myself and just feel regret for not living it up at that point in my life. I don’t want kids and don’t have much of a sex drive, maybe that might have something to do with it?
