Is he looking for more than a friends with benefits?

So I have a friend with benefits, but haven’t had sex for a couple of months (started in November 2021) He does say he still wants to have sex, but he likes to hang out with me and do other things together. He comes and sees me twice a week. He’ll say he’s always busy but I’ve noticed over last weeks he’s shifting some of his priorities to make time to hang out.

He’ll come over saying “I have so much to do but I feel I’ve done enough today and wanted to see you”. Sometimes he’ll just message me wondering if I’m available for dinner or a coffee, even just for a drive.

He came to me a few weeks ago wanting my opinion on which university courses to do, he ended up going for the one I said he talked more excitedly about doing. He has brought up multiple times how he hasn’t been on dating sites since we met online.

I feel like there’s been a positive shift that he’s aiming for it to be more than friends with benefits… I’m not overthinking it too much am I?
