I have a family friend who lives in another state
We’ve gotten closer and we’ve been texting almost everyday since August. He notices when something is wrong via text and he constantly encourages me when nursing school gets overwhelming. In September I told him, I liked him and he said that he’s proud that I’m being honest about my feelings but he’s not ready (He’s a first year resident doctor, not making excuses just stating it’s an overwhelming situation). And he hopes that his response will not affect our relationship because he really appreciate me. After that, we just carried on and kept on doing what we were doing b4 I told him I liked him. He tells me about his work, his new hobbies, he sends me pictures of his hair and his new glasses and he asked me to help him name his plants. He listens to me rant, even though he’s tired and just got back from work. He pays attention and remembers important dates I tell him, he wishes me luck before every exam and test. Recently we didn’t talk for two weeks because I had finals and honestly I was kind of isolating and he was sick and didn’t reach out but to make it up to me,
He said he was going to get me an end of semester/Christmas present and asked what I wanted. I feel like he likes me but I don’t want to have any False hope or anything.

I have a curly hair and i love it. However, sometimes i am in rush and it takes time and I don’t like to deal with it. Honestly, sometimes i wish we girls like men, we can cut our hair short without being judged by society etc who think girls with short hair are masculine or lesbian.
I wish if i could cut it this short, I wouldn’t say forever because i like long hair too but I’m afraid that my boyfriend would no longer likes me, also the society in general.
I wanna know why people think girls must be with long hair but it’s okay for men to with short hair. I used to think that only girls can grow long hair until i ask my boyfriend about his hair type and he repkied” men can have long hair too but we cut it because the society say that men should be with short hair”. His reply honetly opened my eyes into things i have never thought of.

Some background on my friend. She is very caring, strong, and loves getting people together. Sarah is pretty, always full makeup, hair curled, and always wearing something flattering. I am one who dresses more for comfort than appearance. I don’t like wearing makeup unless we are going out with friends or to do something where we are going to be in public all day. My boyfriend earlier on used to bring up how I should go shopping with my friend so I could start dressing like her. I told him her clothes are very expensive and not something I really wanted to put my money towards even when it comes to sweats. So for Christmas last year he bought me a bunch of lululemon. He says I need to be presentable when walking the dogs around our neighborhood. My friends have recognized when they all want us to do something the only person that can get my boyfriend interested is if Sarah tells him. He constantly gets upset with me that we never do what he wants, but he isn’t recognizing we always do what Sarah wants. He is a lot nicer and social with Sarah than he is with me. When I ask him why that is he says he would be the same way to me if I treated him how Sarah treats him. He is always asking who Sarah is dating and what she is up to. This is all so odd to me because he accuses me of having things with his friends if I even talk to them for 30 seconds, Let alone if I were to ever bring them up in convo. Last weekend I was upset about something else and it made me feel not good enough. He immediately brought up Sarah and how he doesn’t want her just me. My issue with the Sarah conversation isn’t that I think they would be together it is that I’m jealous of the attention and how nice he is to her in comparison to me. Throughout the night he would come up and say the same thing, I don’t want Sarah. I finally said I know for a fact Sarah doesn’t want you so I would really appreciate you stop saying that. It also just validates you aren’t hearing why that topic annoys me. So?

Last week a guy send a dm asking if he can ask a question. I noticed he liked photos on my photography account (dm on personal) so I said yes cuz I thought it would be about it. Anyways we started talking but he made very weird comments that got me confused and creeped out. Such as: Are there many forest in the city you live in? (He said it’s good to go for a walk time to time.) then he told me to take good care of my hair and explained his whole character. Also he also said things like “we can take photos together” or “we can eat together.” This all happened on the very first day we started talking. A few days later I got very busy with school so I responded shortly or really late. Also because I got weirded out. It was projectweek and mine didn’t go well so I was down and wasn’t in the mood to talk with him. I decided to respond to him telling that I don’t do so well and stuff, then he started asking the same questions again. Like: Do you have a parttime job (+where)? Which city where you in again? Do you plan on studying after your degree? These are all questions I answered before. So I decided to ignore him. I ignored him for a week. And yesterday he sent I dm saying he didn’t hear from me in a few days etc. I told him that there are things going on and I want to focus on myself. He said I understand. And kept on asking questions.. I hoped he would stop tbh.
I do find his behavior very weird, I can’t be the only one thinking so?
