That which the dead had in the past

but did not carry on in

generations past

I want to believe in progress

but reality Trump’s me every time

as scared as we are to

risk crossing the overton window

or

disobey the corporate line

I believe good intentions meet the meat grindr

& its gay,

not to be PC,

it’s just not my way

I feel like as long as we’re fucked

the people think to lay

in complacency the nascent spree

of social justice worriers abide

I feel the people who killed slavery deserved

much more pride

It’s not a contest

so thank fuck,

because we’d lose if we tried.
