I miss the 2000s so very much, all the way up until about 2008. After that, everything went to absolute shit so bad, such that now I feel I live in a dystopian nightmare.

These were the days before economic turmoil (before 08 of course), the all-consuming big-tech disruption, and before the woke/PC garbage ruined everything. Not everything had to be politically motivated either.

Life was a bit more simpler back then and more laid back. You had cool tech but knew when to take a break and play outside with adventure and friends. Exploring the backyard, the creeks, riding bikes, making trails in the backyard woods... some examples.

This is before everyone lost their ever fucking minds. There was still decorum and manners. No AI face recognition when you walk into Walmart. No leftist mobs burning down businesses, terrorizing their neighbors, and barging into churches to berate congregants. That shit didn't fly back then, and if kids and teens participated in that, their asses would be beat. Adults were actually more like adults, and boy scouts were actually the BOY Scouts for the boys. Kids were actually able to be kids without trying to indoctrinate them with sexually/developmentally inappropriate shit. Drag queens performances in school would have been an outright national outrage.

You could crack jokes back then that are now offensive to hypersensitive snowflakes.

Most of all, I miss my family being together and when family actually meant something. Now, this whole "boundaries" movement and family members blocking one another even just something ridiculous as a political disagreement... it is all disheartening to say the least.

And of course, the culture I miss:

Last night, I had a nightmare where 2 black kids carjacked me in downtown Knoxville at a park.

I often have weird dreams that often progress to nightmares.

Some of these nightmares can become very demonic and have the same theme and location, in my house where I am fighting a demonic presence.

Other common ones are when I accidentally drive into a ghetto or where I am trying to dial a number in a dire situation and cannot correctly dial the number. I have also have some where I lose my teeth or catastrophically break my electronics.

But according to GM, the company can create an even better experience for drivers by dropping Apple and making its own software. And like it or not, car makers are watching carefully.

GM has gone as far as invoking Apple in defending its decision: Remove a feature, such as the disk drive on a laptop, and people eventually adapt and move. GM the change “will happen over time, not overnight” and “if your car supports Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, that will continue.” Before its announcement, GM had already nixed CarPlay and Android Auto in EVs. But it’s not CarPlay. Some popular apps are missing, such as Apple Podcasts and Apple Music.

There is one other crucial difference. Because GM’s software isn’t tied to a phone like CarPlay is, access to the full suite of software requires its own data plan—through GM, of course. (The cheapest plan costs $10 a month.) Get used to these kinds of subscriptions, regardless of what kind of car you drive. In recent years, automakers have realized how much money they can make from in-car technology: Maybe they charge a subscription fee for hands-free highway cruise control. Maybe they charge for apps that let you control aspects of the car from your phone. Maybe they sell data that your navigation system collects about you.

Apple sees tremendous value in expanding its presence in your car: The next step is CarPlay Ultra, which enables your phone to temperature? Ask Siri to do it. It’s an Apple lover’s dream and a car company’s worst nightmare.

She was given a whopping 75 days in total to vacate. She is holding part of the family home hostage with me and my wife living upstairs. I have yet to see a box or any piece of furniture being removed.

I am thinking about creating a website to raise awareness of this nightmare situation. After the machete incident and her always being hostile and threatening towards me, I was ready for her to be out a long time ago.
