i met this guy on yikyak and although we never shared pictures or exchanged social media or talked on call, we described to each other how we look. i lied about my appearance (i’m overweight and not conventionally attractive so i was insecure). i’m (18F) talking to a guy (21M). we started off with just sexting. we caught feelings for each other and are still talking (since January 2024). the thing is that initially in the beginning i didn’t give him my real name or which city i live in. slowly over time, these lies built up. i didn’t think we would even talk for more than a week but we still are. he knows my age, where and what i study, but i lied to him about my name, where i live, my ethnicity/nationality (i’m a woc), what my parents do, sibling, what i look like, and some of my outfits. i also told him i have an ex of 6 years who cheated on me (i was embarrassed i didn’t have any ex when he has 2-3). over time as we caught feelings for each other, he told me he would like to meet me (he’d fly to where i study), ask me out, date me for a couple of years and finally marry me and have a family with me. i think despite these lies we have a real connection- we talk about our dreams and ambitions, our feelings, our favorite music and movies, we talk about books, about our families, our problems, our achievements and pretty much everything. i’m the only person besides his mom who he has told about what he wants to do in the future. we talk most of the day and sleep together on spotify jam. i made him a playlist and he made me one. this weekend he asked me to make a playlist for us to sleep to. a week ago, i told him i loved him and he told me he loved me. i genuinely love this guy a lot and want to have a real relationship with him. should i tell him the truth? if so, how will he react? or should i just tell him i can’t meet because my parents don’t approve and let him go forever?

I met this guy in October last year at a dinner gala event. We were placed on a seating arrangement and he ended up sitting next to me, we talked that entire night and we instantly clicked, it felt as if we had already known each other for years.
Then that same night, there was a party going on, I attended and he ended up being there too! He first came, put his hands gently on my shoulders asking if I'm okay, and he was winking at me, smiling the entire night. For context, he was my friends mutual she brought along that night. Fast forward to November, he texted me asking if we can hang out some time, and I agreed. We texted briefly in December, he did invite me somewhere but I was out of the country and couldn't make it.
Now this year jan he liked my stories, commented on my posts and even texted me briefly. By feb, I had texted him first that day to find out if he still studies at the university I'm currently at, coz that's where he went last year (he is in his last year ), and he said no but he will visit more often now that I am there. Then he asked for my number and sent me a text asking if I'm seeing anybody, I said no & then he sent a text saying he wants me and I told him we can give it a try. We spoke, he invited me to meet up with him to get to know each other better in person, coz he sucks at texting, I seriously couldn't make it to any of the 5 hangouts; I had other things those days. We eventually did meet twice so far this year, one in feb and last week Monday as he came to visit me on my campus which is 30 minutes away from his. We were supposed to meet yesterday outside of campus, but I couldn't make it to the venue he invited me to. but I feel as if I am letting him down by not attending. Also I still live with my parents although I am a 2nd year university student, and my parents still treat me like a high scholar that I can't go out unless it's with 2 specific friends. I feel as if it's too good to be true that he not giving up

Hii there! I need your help!

There is a very shy boy in my college that I like. We are both 21 years old. I thought he might like me as he seemed quite nervous when he was talking to me, he didn't ask me a you, he kept enough distance between us and I have seen him look at me several times and sometimes smile a little (I know these are subtle signs but I thought may be signs). I asked him how he was doing personally and he replied that he was not at all interested in being with anyone and that he should get to know the other person well first and he didn't ask me if I have someone. I told him to exchange social media if I want to ask him something about the school and he said we will meet in person, no need, we are not lost. He never greets first either (I think because he is very shy and doesn't talk to many people). I know his parents are very strict. One time his mother called 2 times when we talked to ask him where he is and why he is late. In social events, he is always with them and he seem kinda lost and unhappy. I believe they influenced him based of his shy and not social behaviour.

Is this typical shy guy behavior to reject someone? Should I give up and move on?
