Why he want to meet my family?

Im going to visit his hometown soon, and instead of saying he wants me to go out with him only, he literally suggest that he can bring my family touring the area, and even suggest to have dinner with his parents, so 2 family meet.. And bear in mind, he never meet my parents let alone talking, and same as me as well never interact with his parents
