Why does he want to meet my parents?

He started by talking about wanting to talk to my dad for advice on how to get his lady love, when I said that he still loves his wife and takes care of her.

Then after I had cooked for him at his place and we were eating, he said why don't you bring your parents here to my apartment and I'll get my parents around too and we can meet each other and talk. He also wanted to eat my mom's cooking after I mentioned that it's quite good.

We've known each other for a few months, but we're good friends and quite close and caring with each other.
