I (20, male) work with a friend (24, female) that I have been friends with for about a year and a half. I was trying to schedule a mutual hangout with some of our other friends and we do most of our summer planning over snap group chats. It dawned on me that I did not have her snap, so when we were chatting at work I asked for it so I could add her to the chats. She came back at the end of her shift and said that she realized that I don't have her number so she gave me a sheet of paper with her full name, number and snap (which i thought was weird since I've known her for almost 2 years) She said she was open to chat and that I should reach out or text and we went on our separate ways, I mentioned a few group hangout ideas (drive-in movie, visiting long distance friend a few states away) and she told me that she was really busy but wanted to do them.
Flash forward about a week to when I saw her next and now she's been avoiding me almost completely. She barely talks to me in person and replies to text messages/snaps quickly but never carries on conversations. She never looks at me and usually just says "s'up" and goes about her routine without saying anything, and she never makes eye contact or really seems to care when I ask her something and it's just awkward between us now. Some of my girl friends said that she wanted me to make a move and ask her out and that this was my opportunity bc the same friend invited me to come swimming at her house, wanted to meet my parents and family members and told me I could do better with an ex crush way back when. At that point she had a boyfriend so I thought it was just regular friend behavior. Now I don't know what to think. I don't want to lose her as a friend bc I really value our relationship but I am not sure if I would want to date her, any advice?
