My fiancé and I have a large age gap (I am 28 and he is 50) and other differences but we have a strong emotional connection that holds us together. I don’t know why but even though he says he wants to be with me, he isn’t very expressive or affectionate. He doesn’t compliment me ever. I may tell him things I like about him but he is never able to answer when I ask the same in return. Or I will compliment him on his physical attributes but he will say things like your lips are fine or this is average. You could do better if you put work in. Etc. I don’t really get it because he is pretty average looking and not my normal type but I really love him and have gone out of my way to prove it. I can’t tell if he really doesn’t like me but still wants to get married for convenience or if he is just bad at expressing but every time I try communicating this, he ignores me or diverts. Even though he is close to 50, makes less than me and has been divorced 3 times he tells me he is a catch but never makes me feel like he is lucky to have me. I don’t feel loved or understood by him and it hurts a lot. I don’t understand why he acts so indifferent. The only times I’ve seen him not like that is when other men give me attention and then he gets really nasty and jealous. He has called me a slut, whore, etc before out of that possessiveness. And when we sleep together, it is always passionate. But in the day to day, he acts very indifferent and I am trying to understand why. Any ideas or understanding? An outside perspective would be much welcome please. Thanks in advance ;-(

I have no family and I’m 25. I live alone & I no longer have relationship with parents as they hate I’m independent. We have fought as they are angry I have a car & dad isn’t giving me rides everyday anymore, they are angry I have stable job & business, they don’t want me save , they don’t treat me like an adult so I don’t feel good see them. I always felt left out with family, my married brother doesn’t talk or visit me. His wife wants him only with her family & she has gotten jelaous of me before as one I tried sit next to brother & she got jealous fast went to sit next to him. Wtf. Last time I visited brother and his wife’s family her sisters and wife all ignore me pretend I don’t exist & just talk of her life. My only girl cousin is jelaous of me so she avoids me last time I went visit her & was just with her boyfriend daily so it was pointless even visit her. She pretends like she has a million friends & don’t need me due to envy& wants copy any single thing I have. I have a boyfriend only & he’s only nice person In my life that’s it. I never had friends that are girls as I’m nice & they are mean girls treat me very bad or act jealous. Whole life I enoucnter mean girls or girls that just want be with boyfriend so it’s hard make a true friend.

It's often said that women diss other women for being proud of their bodies because they wished they looked that good. But I've known very attractive girls who do said "dissing" so it got me thinking could they be jealous of something else?

Maybe instead of just being jealous of each others appearance we can become jealous of each other's confidence. Some girls become very insecure looking at the girls on their phone screen so when they see a woman who's proud of her body they become jealous that they can't feel the same way about theirs.

Some background on my friend. She is very caring, strong, and loves getting people together. Sarah is pretty, always full makeup, hair curled, and always wearing something flattering. I am one who dresses more for comfort than appearance. I don’t like wearing makeup unless we are going out with friends or to do something where we are going to be in public all day. My boyfriend earlier on used to bring up how I should go shopping with my friend so I could start dressing like her. I told him her clothes are very expensive and not something I really wanted to put my money towards even when it comes to sweats. So for Christmas last year he bought me a bunch of lululemon. He says I need to be presentable when walking the dogs around our neighborhood. My friends have recognized when they all want us to do something the only person that can get my boyfriend interested is if Sarah tells him. He constantly gets upset with me that we never do what he wants, but he isn’t recognizing we always do what Sarah wants. He is a lot nicer and social with Sarah than he is with me. When I ask him why that is he says he would be the same way to me if I treated him how Sarah treats him. He is always asking who Sarah is dating and what she is up to. This is all so odd to me because he accuses me of having things with his friends if I even talk to them for 30 seconds, Let alone if I were to ever bring them up in convo. Last weekend I was upset about something else and it made me feel not good enough. He immediately brought up Sarah and how he doesn’t want her just me. My issue with the Sarah conversation isn’t that I think they would be together it is that I’m jealous of the attention and how nice he is to her in comparison to me. Throughout the night he would come up and say the same thing, I don’t want Sarah. I finally said I know for a fact Sarah doesn’t want you so I would really appreciate you stop saying that. It also just validates you aren’t hearing why that topic annoys me. So?
