I was more interested in Africa when I was a kid, but now the only country in Sub-Saharan Africa that really interests me, is South Africa.

I don't care about Mandela or Robben Island, I don't care about Townships and I see I don't even really care about native tribes anymore, or black culture.

I'm much more interested in learning about the Afrikaners and other White cultures that settled/live in the area. I think it's largely because Africa is so synonymous with black people, that I find it very fascinating, that there's a thriving White community there. And they built so many cool sites and contributed so much. And I don't really wanna go on vacation to look at poverty. I also get the sense that black Africans are very nationaliatic and don't really care about White people. And everyone always talks about them and feels sorry for them, while I feel White Africans are very misunderstood and persecuted, so I'd much rather support them. Most of the movies and documentaries portray White South Africans in a bad light.

As a kid, I used to watch "Color of Friendship" and "Scout's Safari", which showed White South Africans, and I became so fascinated with these people. It was my favorite country as a kid. I became fascinated with the place when I first saw it on a nature show in the 90s, then even more so when I found our there's White people there. And it's a place I've been wanting to visit since childhood.

Let's start with Victoria and Chobe, which would consist of Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe), Livingstone town (Zambia), Impalila Island (Namibia), Chobe National Park (Botswana)

PROS: The hotels are much closer to the airport.

There are more activities available in the area, so I could experience something even on my flight days.

I would see one of the natural wonders of the world.

I would visit an authentic African village.

Chobe is known for having the highest species density on the planet.

I would have 5 countries in Africa, instead of just 1.

Zimbabwe uses the US dollar.

CONS: Hotels, activities, excursions and national park fees are MUCH more expensive.

I might still have to exchange currency for the other countries.

I'll need to purchase a multi-entry visa for Zimbabwe, which is an additional cost and hassel.

I'll have to though customs/border crossings 7 different times.

I will probably end up on safari with a group of disrespectful entitled tourists, who will be shouting and hogging the best viewing spots.

Now for Kruger and Blyde River Canyon

PROS: Would be significantly cheaper than the other option.

I'll see two more famous places in South Africa, and won't feel like I need to return.

Blyde Canyon is much more scenic and offers more variety in terms of landscapes and towns then Victoria Falls.

Won't have to deal with customs.

Won't have to exchange currency.

Kruger offers a private safari option at a very reasonable price, so I'll have the wildlife all to myself.

CONS: The main tourist town is a 50 minute cab right from the airport.

The town where I'd be staying has less activities than Victoria Falls.

Kruger is more developed with a major road, so it might not feel as raw and I probably won't see certain species like Hippos.

I probably won't experience any authentic tribal life.

I'll only see 1 African country instead of 5.
