I bumped into a male colleague on a night out. We’ve known each other for a couple of years and have a flirty relationship.

When I say drunk, I don’t mean stumbling everywhere and puking their guts up, he seemed pretty coherent and just more sociable if anything.

I, however, was a little more drunk. I admitted to him that I liked him as more than a friend. I asked him if he felt the same way. He kept saying “you’re a lovely person” and I eventually said “just answer the question”. He said yes and we kissed a bit. When he said “yes” he sounded kind of annoyed, like he was very reluctant to admit it.

things were a little awkward at work, but now we are very flirty again. I’ve noticed that when he stares at me, his eyes will look at both of my eyes and down to my mouth. He also looks at me first when he enters a room.

Do you think he meant it? As I said, he didn’t seem overly drunk. Although he claims he “can’t remember” what happened.

My crush had a „stranger“ crush on me for YEARS after briefly talking once in class and used to stare or take glances repeatedly when he saw me and listened to my conversations with others. One day he saw me interacting with a guy who tried to strike up a conversation trying to find out where I’m coming from, possibly flirting with me (due to my ethnic background). I was polite but short since I was busy that day and don’t like talking to random strangers. After that, I found out my crush looked up a few of my friends on LinkedIn. The next time I saw him he didn’t look at me like he usually did and from then on he barely looked at me anymore. A few months later he deleted the playlist he made for me a year ago.

Why did his interest in me drop all of a sudden to zero? I’m pretty sure he knew from the very beginning that I’m not the most outgoing person so seeing me being shy with strangers shouldn’t come as a surprise to him. How is being shy with strangers such a big deal for someone who has admired me for YEARS?

Or would you break it off because it would be awkward (because you don't like them in return)?
