First dates can arouse some anxiety. What will they be like? How will they act? Are they loud and obnoxious? Etc. If you have not previously met them, and have not previously seen them, you have even more reasons to be concerned.

I have had a first date with a woman I met online. Her pictures were fairly cute but when she showed up, it was obvious that those pictures had been taken about a 100 pounds ago! It might not have been such a huge problem if she had been honest up front about her size. I had a first date with a lady who was just as cute as her pictures on POF, but I'm not sure she stopped talking more than 30 seconds during our date. Another first date (the only coffee date I ever had) opened her mouth and it looked like her teeth had not been cleaned or even brushed in 30+ years; the idea of kissing her was disgusting!

Have you had a bad first date experience?

Me, personally, above the knee is much preferred. Doesn't have to be ridiculously short either, but just slightly above the kneecap when standing is fine. Kind of like the woman above in the pink.

I love maxi dresses, not gonna lie, but a below the knee dress that's not a maxi just makes the legs look short and awkward to me. You can even see it in the above photo, the legs of the woman in blue look much shorter than the legs of the woman in pink.

I'm not gonna act like some sort of fashion police, but if you're gonna show off your legs in a dress, at the very longest go slightly above the knee. Otherwise your legs will look short. And if you don't wanna do that, wear a maxi.

That's just my personal opinion, don't take it too seriously, but just saying.
