People often say how mothers are the ones who raise sons to be whatever type of gentlemen they are and sometimes they (single mothers in particular) are blamed for the existance of "white knights". My mom raised me to not resort to violence towards anyone (regardless of gender) to solve my problems unless strictly for self-defense. She never raised me to believe that her gender is more valuable and superior than mine like the internet "parents" all over the web do.

I'm all for being a gentlemen but at the same time, I'll just get up with the stupid "nice guy" label, as if I'm either a phony sociopath or doormat which I'm neither. I just prefer to show courtesy because I choose to but for most part, I'm a pretty unfront and blunt guy. Then again, women seem to hate that too so I honestly don't know what the hell they want in a man. The one thing I'll never ever once in my life do is allow myself to be a doormat to women (or anyone for that matter) and kiss their asses because society forces men to do so because it's what "real men" do.

I am a member of YouGov dot com, which is a survey website. Take a daily survey, earn points, maybe turn points into a giftcard over time.
YouGov does all sorts of surveys, and when a survey ends, not only can you see the final results, but you can also, if you choose, see the breakdown. Breakdown is available to show how people voted based on age, political leaning, gender, financial status, or region.

One thing I have noticed, which strikes me as weird, is that almost every single survey that has a yes/no/i don't know breakdown, more women vote "I don't know" than men. On EVERY subject.

Now, I am not insinuating that women are in any way less capable of knowing about, thinking about, or caring about issues. There are people in every demographic who vote "I don't know," and it is a perfectly legitimate stand to take. I have voted it a few times, when I either did not know enough about the topic discussed, or I had an idea of what I liked more, but I aso acknowledged that there were consequences for that idea, so voting "I don't know" seemed a good way to suggest that I saw both sides of the issue.

However, women seem almost twice as likely as men to vote that way. If a survey shows 17% of guys voted that, usually around 34% of women have also. This ranges from surveys on foreign policy, to whether Uber drivers and taxi drivers should have the right to a gun in their car, to whether sugary foods should be taxed, to whether female athletes who have been domestic abuse instigators should face the same in-sport suspensions and penalties as male athletes do, to just about anything else you can imagine.

So, despite my obnoxiously long winded lead-up, my question (s) are simple: Why do women vote "I don't know" more often than men? If you have taken a survey of any kind recently, and chose "I don't know," if you can recall what the survey was about, can you
