The answer seems obvious to me. Easier to be a man, hands down. Why? Here are the first reasons that come to mind.

1. 480 Periods
The average woman will have to deal with 480 periods in her life. FORTY YEARS worth! Plus the cramps, mood swings, bloating, you name it. The alternative is to have to take drugs to suppress them with unknown health effects.

2. Pregnancy
As a woman you have three choices. Abstain from sex, worry about getting pregnant or take drugs or have surgery to prevent it. Men can't get pregnant.

3. Raising the children
In spite of all the talk, at least 90+% of childcare will fall on the woman. That's just the natural course of life. And this goes on for decades after they are born. It's not that this is a bad thing in an of itself, it's a noble calling, but to have to know that you are stuck with this greatest of all responsibilities no matter what if you have children is a very heavy burden. And many women end up doing it all alone.

4. Your appearance is constantly under scrutiny
Womens' physical appearance is much more important to others than mens'. And not only to men. Women are constantly judged on their appearance by other women as well. That's why the womens' clothing, cosmetics and beauty industry is so gigantic. Women are constantly evaluated on their physical appearance so much more than men and have so many bewildering options when it comes to dress, beauty products and such. It seems overwhelming to always be under a microscope like that and to have to spend so much time and attention dealing with it. Again, I am not unhappy that women do this, I completely understand and can't imagine what it would be like if they didn't, it's just that it seems a heavy burden to me.

Here's a shortened version of the story.

Basically, in my city there's a high school facebook page for love letters, mainly for shitposting or actual love letters to people, as well as some self-advertisements and looking for> posts (basically high school tinder). I made a (anonymous for obvious reason) submission, posting about myself and what I was looking for. I got quite a few responses (comments/react if you're seriously interested) but there was only 1 girl who actually caught my attention. I have very little mutual friends with her (only 1 mutual friend who I actually properly know irl), but I thought she was beautiful (honestly is, won't leak her insta but quite popular as hell from what is seems). I went on her profile and we do have some common interests, but I also realize she's usually only hanging out with girls. I haven't messaged her yet because I was still thinking about it and I don't exactly have much to lose, but I want to know the best approach. Any tips on this? (I'm 17, she's turning 17 soon)

Personally, I'm "popular" but only to some extent (lots of people know me because I'm in a lot of social groups but they don't exactly know me very well). I think I'm a solid 7-8/10 in terms of looks and financially stable (for a high school student). What're your opinions on this, should I even bother trying?
