Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis Says Disney Lawsuit Is Political

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Thursday shrugged off Disney’s lawsuit against him as politically motivated, and that it was time for the iconic company to stop enjoying favorable treatment in his state.

Disney sued DeSantis on Wednesday over the Republican’s appointment of a board of supervisors in its self-governed theme park district, alleging the governor waged a “targeted campaign of government retaliation” after the company opposed a law critics call, “Don’t Say Gay.”

The legal filing is the latest salvo in a more than year-old feud between Disney and DeSantis that has engulfed the governor in criticism as he prepares to launch an expected 2024 presidential bid.
“They’re upset because they’re having to live by the same rules as everybody else. They don’t want to pay the same taxes as everybody else and they want to be able to control things without proper oversight,” DeSantis said during a visit to Israel. “The days of putting one company on a pedestal with no accountability are over in the state of Florida.”

DeSantis was speaking on the third leg of an international trip meant to burnish his foreign policy credentials ahead of a potential campaign for the Republican presidential nomination as a key rival to former President Donald Trump.
DeSantis has dived headlong into the fray with Disney, a major driver of tourism and a font for employment in Florida, as business leaders and White House rivals have bashed his stance as a rejection of the small-government tenets of conservatism.

The fight began last year after Disney, in the face of significant pressure, publicly opposed a state law that bans classroom lessons on sexual orientation and gender identity in early grades, a policy critics call “Don’t Say Gay.”

I believe most women still deep down prefer that men approach them first. They don’t like the guesswork and risk of the rejection. They also like the attention. When someone approaches you it puts you in the drivers seat to accept or reject. It makes you feel wanted and valuable.

However I do believe more women are approaching men nowadays. However it’s definitely not a 50/50 balance. Only a small (yet growing) minority of women are confident enough to take that risk.

Also a lot girls who say they are “approaching” men are really just getting close to the man’s presence vs. directly talking to him, asking for a number and a date. There is a difference.

There is a negative stereotype that men are slower to grow up and mature when it comes to how they treat the opposite gender.

Personally I know I think and react differently towards women in general compared to how I was in my teens and early 20s. I am more careful about the comments I make, refrain better from starring too long (if she’s attractive), I communicate better if I am interested or not, I make better thought out decisions and I handle rejection better (and reject others better) compared to the younger version of myself

I also know most women hate the feeling of “being used and/or lied to for sex.” If it’s a hook up or fling I’ll be open about my true intentions even if it costs me want. Not to say I was a liar when I was younger. But years ago I would stay tight lipped if I just wanted one thing when the other girl was thinking we would get in a relationship. In retrospect I recognize that was wrong. Nowadays I don’t give false hope.

That of course doesn’t mean I’m perfect. I will continue to make mistakes. However I am more cognizant of how the other gender thinks now. I also am less likely to get caught off guard if a bad gut sense about something.

With that said I’ve have unfortunately encountered a lot of grown ass women in their 30s and even older that still show blatant immaturity. The worse example is how some of them still play dumb if a guy is interested (and woman isn’t) to exploit the friéndzone for attention and benefits.

I would think a grown woman would know better than to do that. It’s not a sex issue but a respect issue. The guy has only so much time, resources and patience to stick his neck out.

He can handle rejection but being friendzoned is extremely insulting. He will usually figure it out faster than a young man and when he does he will feel exploited.

Just meeting older woman who still believe in this crap is insane.
