I met one of my best friends when she was 15-16 and I was 18 in a mom's group. She was incredibly hot to me. Background: I’ve been spending time with a new guy for a little over a month now, getting to know each other. When he picked me up for a date, I noticed a custom trinket that he has hanging from his rear view mirror. I looked at it closely and it had a “drive safe” message engraved with a girl’s name and a heart on it. I asked him about it and he said it was from his ex.

I was taken aback because I don’t personally keep gifts from exes, especially something that seems sentimental. He told me a bit about her and that things didn’t necessarily end on a bad note, they just ended up wanting different things but they’re cool with each other. Jokingly I told him that he probably still has feelings for her, then he told me if that were the case, we wouldn’t be seeing each other.

I only ever really hear about issues with women keeping jewelry from exes but out of curiosity for the men, is keeping something like this, a custom gift that you probably look at regularly, a big deal? Or this probably means nothing?
