2004 was my favorite year. 2005 was quite decent. I moved in 2005 in the middle of 5th grade. 6th grade had some challenges but was OKish. 7th grade was the beginning of the decline. By the time 2008 rolled around going forward, I was in a severe and sharp mental health decline. I was going in and out of psych hospitals. I was told adulthood would be better. That couldn't be farther from the truth. At 18 throughout most of my 20s, I was in severe mental and emotional anguish. The involuntary hospitalizations continued.

By age 29, I managed to get my first real girlfriend and serious relationship. I am now engaged to be married, but I am far from normal. I still struggle with mental health issues and now physical health problems as well.

Judge Scraps Rule Eliminating Medical Debt on Credit Reports

The Trump administration joined with trade groups to ask a court to overturn a Biden-era rule that aimed to limit the impact of unpaid medical bills on consumers’ credit history

Consumer advocates said the ruling would add to the burdens confronting people facing health challenges. In drafting the rule, the consumer bureau drew on its own research and other studies showing that unlike most other consumer debt, medical bills have little value in predicting a consumer’s likelihood to repay loans.

In a macabre nod to how deeply debt enforcement efforts can cut, the bureau said when it issued the rule that it would have prevented creditors from using information about medical devices — like wheelchairs or prosthetic limbs — to demand that the devices “serve as collateral for a loan for the purposes of repossession.”

"Conservatives have criticized identity-based affirmative action because, they suggest, it imposes an expectation on students of color that they will represent what is presumed to be, say, the Black or Latino view on any given issue, which discourages freethinking. Admitting students for viewpoint diversity would turn the holding of conservative ideas into a quasi-identity, subject to some of the same concerns. Students admitted to help restore ideological balance would likely feel a responsibility to defend certain views, regardless of the force of opposing arguments they might encounter.

For professors hired for their political beliefs, the pressure to maintain those views would be even greater. If you had a tenure-track position, your salary, health insurance and career prospects would all depend on the inflexibility of your ideology. The smart thing to do in that situation would be to interact with other scholars who share your point of view and to read publications that reinforce what you already believe. Or you might simply engage with opposing ideas in bad faith, refusing even to consider their merits. This would create the sort of ideological echo chamber that proponents of viewpoint diversity have suggested, often with some justification, leads to closed-mindedness among left-leaning professors."
