I had a health issue last year that put me out of work for a while.

In the process I accrued lots of debt I couldn't pay and some of it has been put into debt collections. Sadly, its a large amount...

How do I overcome this? How do I deal with debt collectors?

I Googled some people I knew from school. You can make $200 a day as a pianist at weddings and you can make them pay for your travel and piano shipping costs for the performance. You could also host a music or games festival at a night club, charge an entrance fee, and split the earnings with the club owners. You could also teach art classes at a community centre and charge $60 per person per class.

Reddit can give you better resources. Try to apply for your hospital’s financial aid program (they’re required to have them by law) and use that to stall any collectors.
