I have a close friend and confidante in a recovery program who is an awesome young man. He’s actually my sponsor.

He leans progressive and I’m a moderate conservative. We have some differences on opinions with politics. But both of us know some subjects are just off limits. But we respect each other very much otherwise.

But I notice women more than men seem to make very quick and easy judgments about people when they don’t agree with their politics. The only time they give men a (semi) pass is if they find the man physically attractive. But even then it’s only a semi buffer.

To be fair men can be like this too. I’ve seen time and time again where guys seemingly “agree” with a woman’s political POV only if they want to sleep with her. I find that to be absolutely beyond pathetic simp bs.

There was a time many years ago when politically opinionated women actually liked it when guys disagreed with them (because it showed the guy had a backbone). But those times are long past ever since Trump first got elected in 2016. So I usually change the subject/don’t respond in those scenarios. If she keeps going off on it then I won’t associate with her anymore. But I will never change my core beliefs just to impress a woman.

But I find that men I disagree politically are easier to get along with in the real world (definitely not on GAG) then women are. Just as long as we have common ground on something else.

So when I got this job I was in a tough spot. I was starving needed the money my brother was drinking himself to death, and I just left an abusive relationship. My PTSD was at its worst I was just trying to survive. So I didn't talk much but there were a few women there I thought were attractive but they didn't really seem to feel the same way and I just thought well that's not why I'm here anyway. Those same women were very rude and dismissive to me personally. It's a stressful job and I didn't talk much because of my aforementioned issues, but a lot of people took my depression and quiet nature for stupidity those women especially. Lately tho like all at once one liked me and then another some girl got a write up because she started hiking up her thong and swaying her hips in front of me. I didn't make a move because she was pretty aggressive about it and she not 3 months ago would act like I was a burden to her existence. When I didn't make a move and after she got written up went back to hating me but also trying to flirt then back to hating me again. That's basically been the same pattern with a few women there I work with. And it's only like this at work outside of work people are very kind and receptive to me. Another one was a girl I really liked I thought she was the most attractive girl I've ever seen but she was also probably the rudest person to me there out of everyone. Now she's doing this same shit, keeps staring at me when we are dressing up to enter the work room keeps running directly into me when she would always make a point to be across the room from me and never looking my way. Yesterday the power went out and everyone went to the hall I was feeling kinda shitty so I found my own spot to chill out and she walked all the way from where she was standing alone and stood right next to me kept looking at me and circling me waiting for me to say something to her. Why is she now acting this this after treating me like shit for about 8 months straight.

I am 23 and I am graduating with a degree in Emvironmental Engineering in June.

Considering that I am not attractive (neither physically (as I have an ugly face) nor I do not pocess characteristics that women seek in giys) would it be bad to pursue excellence in my life? Get a Master's degree, learn a new language, learn to code etc...

So many things in life than to try to "convince" other people that you are worth their time.

I don't know maybe I see it like that.

Let's say you're out in public and you see an attractive person, but you don't like what they're wearing: is it a turn off?

Ladies, you see a good looking man in sandals, cargo shorts, and a t-shirt at the grocery store or men, you see a good looking woman at the same place wearing mom jeans and a baggy shirt.
