I don't know why people are criticising you. I enjoyed your take and I learnt something from this.

Some of your points are because of the comparatively greater size of America as compared to Europe .

I can understand the criticism due to the fact most Europeans seem like they don't want to be compared to other Europeans. Which that isn't what I'm doing because every country in Europe has their own kind of culture and what they do in ever day lives. I'm just talking about the common things you would see no matter which country in Europe you would go to. Which I admit I did mess up on how I worded somethings but sadly gag won't let me fix that. :'(

Europe is a large continent with many different cultures, so these points obviously don't cover every country. Most do count though, the size of cars particularly. I will say though in the UK free refills are common.

This is not true for all of Europe this seems a lot more country specific. Europe is not a country but a continent. It is like comparing North American culture to that of Italy. This take should have pitted country versus country. Not a continent in which the countries can have vastly different cultures to a country that is fairly consistent.

Why not tell me about how it's like being in other European countries. Main reason why I did this. So others can explain what it's like to be in each specific country in Europe .

American doctor's fees and hospital costs aren't affordable while social security, health care insurance exist in every European country.
Then there are the cars: a limited number of gas guzzling SUVs in Europe , lots of 12 ft cars.

The reason why you heard Americans talk badly about America, is because they think it's cool. And abstinence is only taught in certain parts of the "bible belt", I am from the Northeast, we are taught to use protection.

Also; Fun fact, before Napoleon it was normal for Europeans to drive on the left side of the road, he decided to change that, but because he never controlled England we managed to keep the system, while a few over the channel just stuck with it.

This is a good take but I think it depends on where you go in Europe , some places, e. g. Germany are like what you described, but if you come to England, things lie advertising and Religion etc... are similar to in the USA.

Also in England we eat a lot of fast food like you but you're correct about the portion sizes.

We do go to fast food places.

There are lots of advertsing and commercial breaks can take 3-5 minutes (or longer) here too.

We do have long school holidays and school breaks

And religion is a big deal in some eurpean countries.

Europe is a continent with SEVERAL countries in which we all have different cultures and rules. You clearly haven't visited many European countries and still you think you know it all.

Nope never had the chance to go to Europe . ;( I wouldn't even attempt a post for each country in Europe since I wouldn't know enough to do it right for ever one. So any info I did about Europe was from people who do live in some of the countries in Europe . One of them being Portugal. I didn't say Europe and north america because I've never been to Canada so I have no idea how they do somethings. So if you know everything everyone does in every single country in Europe please write them down. Correct me on what I got wrong about Europe as a whole.

No, I do not know. But I live in Europe and I have visited 5 other European countries. So I know more than you at least. What I'm saying is that you can't write shit like this when you haven't gathered enough information. And when we are talking about Europe ... well gathering enough information is difficult.

I'm just offering my perspective as European, and what you are saying is not true.
(May be true to some but since you are talking about Europe as a whole, it's not true)

If you can't tell me every single difference about every single European country then I stand by what I wrote. I'm not saying anything bad about Europe I honestly thing it's better. It's just interesting seeing what the norm in Europe is compared to in the USA. That's all. Plus if you look up any websites on this subject they are basically saying the same so I'm not really that far off. So I just named the ones I knew off the top of my head. These websites could be all lies but there are some truth to it all as a norm.

Yeah but you can't say every single thing about every single European country either. And that is what you trying to do now. Saying things in Europe are like this, when they aren't like that. So stand by your lie if that makes you feel better.

Reading some lists online will not make me change my mind because I have seen Europe and I know by experience.

I would never believe these things are what all European countries are like and do. I'm not saying all of these things are 100% what is going on in Europe . It's just somethings you might find when going there. None of what I said is a lie because there is truth to it. Unless some Europeans are lying about whats going on in where they live.

You don't have to change your mind and I don't see that happening. Just I think your kind of butt hurt about my post thinking that i'm saying all European countries do this. Stating that would be a lie. Which I've never stated all European countries did that.

Yeah but it sounds like you are saying that. That is the problem.
And some things are lies considering some countries in Europe .
European people lieing? So you mean people who made these lists online haven't visited Europe (like you) but simply believe what other people tell them (like you) and then assume it must be true instead of actually doing research (like you) ?

I may be a little butthurt. But mostly I'm just bored and since this is a take, I have every right to give criticism.

I have no clue if those people have visited Europe but most of what I listed was by friends I talk to that live in Europe including my boyfriend who lives in Portugal. I talk to people who live in Germany in the UK mostly. So this list I based it off mostly about what they have told me what it's like living in their country and in Europe in general. That's what I meant by why would they be lying about what's going on.

By all means criticize my take and give me cold hard facts about what your criticizing.

Ok on the points what you listed that your saying I lied about. Fast food-If europeans went to fast food joints as much as Americans did y'all would have an obese problem like we do most likely.

The commercial one was from what my Portuguese boyfriend said about what he normally watches and when I watched an FC porto game with him there wasn't any commercials ex for half time.

On the schools one I probably did mess up on the fall break one lasting for 1 week. Just never heard of most people i've talked to that live in Europe that have that. Plus the holidays I mean that we get out of school for like Thanksgiving can last an entire week off, then others can last for 4 days off and more.

Religion have you ever seen billboards in any European country that says "Jesus is lord" and others showing bibles on them? Where I live I do see that a lot and your constantly seeing churches all over the place which I'm sure just in my small town we have like over 5-10 churches and my town isn't a city. Just normally where ever u go in the usa your always finding something thing religious being said. Plus on our money it says "in god we trust"

You do know obesity is growing concern in Europe . Our problem may not be as big as your but still. We are getting there, just wait.

Yeah we have summer holiday here that is 2,5 months long. Christmas holiday, 2,5 weeks. Autumn and winter and winter honlidays 1 week, etc. Pretty much but it variates.

In Scandinavia religion is a thing we don't rtalk about. But in some more catholic countries in the south religion is a bigger part of life. I think there are about 20 churches or more in the city I live. I admit you are more open when it comes to religion.

I know the UK has the most obese rate out of all the other countries in Europe .

Summer break is the same length but winter break tends to be like 2-3 weeks long in most schools here. autumn and spring break are 1 week long. Then we end up having a lot of breaks due to severe storms, floods, and snow storms. Then we have breaks for like 5 different holidays including Thanksgiving which has most people out for like 1 week during that. Then other random breaks for teachers.

Most Europeans don't seem like they are constantly shoving their religion in other peoples faces 24/7. Then also having their government talking about god and at sports events having people praying at them.

What I've learned so far from anyone I've talked to about things people normally do in most European countries. Makes me question how the USA is since a lot of stuff I've seen compared to it makes me *facepalm*Like with the not adding tax to sales in the USA yet in Europe y'all seem to do that which is smart.

True. But our politicians are making stupid choices too. They are racing taxes, cutting funding from student, families with children and old people. We have extra taxes for sugar, alcohol and tobacco (which is okay I believe) and everything we pay for is 24% taxes.

And I heard you get breaks from school because of the weather. We still gotta go to school when there is a snow storms or something like that. How much hours do you go to school per week? We usually go 25-30 hours per week. And we hardly have any school related activities or clubs after it.

I have heard of some countries in Europe having high taxes and more troubles like that. I heard that Greece, Ireland, and Portugal are having the most issues but I'm sure there are others just here those are the only ones you hear about having the most issues.

2 reasons why we will get breaks so easily from weather problems. Either because it's a blizzard and we aren't prepared for that, tornadoes, and hurricanes. Plus since we are very dependent on cars that's also a reason for the storms to make it easy for school to be out. Where I live by car I'm like 5 minutes away from the high school I used to go to. If I tried to walk it would take more than 10 minutes plus you have a major highway and a lot of cars to battle to get there.

Normally people go to school for like 35-40hrs from monday-friday. In the USA we have A LOT of club activities, band/chorus, and sports.

Some people do but it's not as common as it is in Europe . In my country, you can get a license with an automatic car but it restricts you from driving a manual. Most people do their license with a manual because then they can legally drive a manual and an automatic if they wish.

      1. Feminism only works in england. And let's not mention how MANSPREADING is now illegal in NY.

      2. What would you do with the immigrants? Gun them down? send them home? Deport them to guantanamo? We're showing solidarity, you asshat. It does come at a prize, but it shows that there's still some hope left in humanity. Ofcorse the natives are to pay for it, they need money to get settled. The welfare system is supposed to help those who got nothing. And last time i checked it, we had more money to afford it than the states XD

      3. What sharia laws? What news are you watching? The fox? Hate for foreigners hasn't been this high since the 30's and earlry 40's grmany when it came to jews. I'm not joking; islamophobia is spreading like wildfire, and trust me, sharia isn't going to happen. Either the muslims learn to adapt, or they'll be trated the same way you treat blacks.

You won't get that far. The look on their face as your open your arms and approach will clue you in.

Also, unfortunately, Americans on average are a lot more prudish and concerned about morals when it comes to sex.

    THE SERVICE

In the U. S as a waiter your salary basically depends on tips = you have to have a smile on your face, provide good service and well almost lick your customers asses

Where in Europe , the minimum wage is a lot higher and we don't really give tips on restaurants which means that honestly the service sucks.. You don't have to care about your customers as in the U. S, because your salary giving by your employer/work is enoug for you to live on.

She never compared the people, which is very different in every European country, she just compared the generic and obvious things that happen in almost all (if not all) of European countries. She actually got everything right.

Like what? I'm just curious, cause at least in Spain and every other country I've been in Europe , everything is correct. Well, perhaps the religion thing may not apply since Spain is pretty religious too.

So what about time city centre? That's heaving with trucks? Not when I was there.
Rural France? Yeah I remember massive trucks hurtling along the tiny ro- oh wait, no I'm wrong, it was small hatchbacks.
Yes it's a sweeping generalisation but just because where you are doesn't fit the OVERALL doesn't mean it's wrong. Most countries have small cars in the city. Just like anywhere if a bigger car is needed (say Norway for tree felling) it's used. The Europeans pick their cars for usefulness or to show wealth. Americans pick them that size so they can fit in them and that's what's available. And roads are smaller so it's easier to drive little cars. That's the difference she was trying to sweepingly generalise.

Keep that TTIP away from Europe and we can still be friends, America.
