(1) Things to be thankful for

I have just realised that I have a lot to be grateful for when it comes to the online haters in my life. They have become a necessary part of my expierence on this site. Without them I might not be aware how decent the other 99% of the users are here.
(2) Possible departure?

At one stage I was contemplating leaving the site but I changed my usage style and learned to enjoy the site again. One of the main reasons I didn't leave was that I didn't want to give my online haters any satisfaction by my departure. I felt I would be giving them a respect they did not deserve.
(3) What is a hater?
According to the urban dictionary a hater is
"A person that simply cannot be happy for another person's success. So rather than be happy they make a point of exposing a flaw in that person.
Hating, the result of being a hater, is not exactly jealousy. The hater doesn't really want to be the person he or she hates, rather the hater wants to knock someone else down a notch."
(4) Why hate?

On this site there are people who become known because they are nice people who develop warm friendships on the site and through their positive actions become dare I say, popular. This seems to be correlated to the high school expierence bringing some level of resentment and bitterness to the surface in some users.
(5) What is popularity here?

Who are the popular/famous users on this site - First things first, there is nothing special about any user, we are all the same. What makes some people stand out is how active they are, anyone can be active. By being active with positive actions you can develop friendships and other social networks on the site leading to becoming well known.
(6) Are we individuals or sheep?

We must realise we are all individuals rather than members of cliques. The clique mentality of the high school must not be allowed to permeate onto this site. Just because the haters like to throw labels around, it doesn't mean that they have to stick. People being nice is not a crime and they should not be afraid to be so.
(7) Being individual makes us stronger

When we realise how we are growing as individuals, we see our inner strength develop. We become aware that we are among a number of strong individuals and together we will be a stronger community full of unique threads that knit together into a complex wonderful pattern.
(8) The haters have shown us how it is better to share our lives together rather than stand apart.

The essence of this myTake is to see that without the haters, this never would have happened. The vast majority of users are bonded by the desire to make the site positive. By showing negativity the haters shows us what we don't want the site to be. This site will flourish because of the haters as the positive majority outshines the negative few.

Winston Churchill said:"You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something sometime in your life."
I live by that quote rather than following the herd so to speak.
A hater's job is to hate, live and let live. The more haters you have, the better should you feel :)
I agree with that point of view
I didn't know you had haters :O I'm shocked...
