Okay so here myTake on US English and how people assume because you speak a different dialect you must be stupid. I know most people would have said American English but America encompasses more than just the US, there is also Canada and Mexico, not to mention the whole continent of South America. (Sorry, everyone, I might began to randomly rant throughout this take). My viewpoint is from a linguistic stand point, I am not just spewing my own logic but a combination of both my own and linguistics.

I get so frustrated when someone mentions to me how well I speak. It's as if they expect me to sound "uneducated". Everyone who has ever took multiple English, Speech, and Literature course should be able to speak Standard American English, SAE. I hate hearing people discount people who speak different dialects of English. Linguistics actually shows us that every form of English used here is acceptable. Depending on where you are from your accent and definition of words will change. There is technically no wrong way to speak English in a causal setting. However, in a academic or professional setting SAE is definitely expected.

Basically, I am writing this myTake to show that English varies depending on where you are from and it doesn't matter what other people think of the way you choose to speak English unless you are in a professional or academic environment. I say screw it, speak comfortably when you are comfortable. AAVE

Below are a list of typical English Dialects that everyone makes jokes about. However these dialects are actually acceptable and also quite cool. I mean come on, have you ever just set back and listened to someone from Boston talk, it is so fascinating. I think learning about different regional dialects a person could become more "worldly".

I wrote all to say: all dialects of English are exceptable and know one way is superior than the other. This rant was brought to you by ignorance on Fcebook this morning. Lol, have a good day, y'all. Also, if you couldn't tell I speak Texas slang.
K, bye for now.
