I turned forty in September and one of my cousins is turning forty soon and it's making me feel so old.

So I thought I'd deal with it by doing a lighthearted take about getting older.

Seriously!? The 80's are NOT old! Come on people!

What's next? the 90's?? I shudder to imagine that....

Celebrity birthdays

You know you're getting old when you see celebrity birthdays and think "they're how old?"

The one that shocked me was Emma Bunton's birthday on January 21, 2016.

Holy crap, Baby Spice is 40!!!

How can my favorite Spice Girl (and the only one younger than me) possibly be the big four-oh? Where did the years go?

And that leads to another thing:

Women

A few months ago I was looking at the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and realized most of the models look like kids to me. It felt kind of creepy. I mean, seriously, some of these girls look like they're barely old enough to shave their legs.

What happened to the days when Heidi Klum and Rebecca Romijn were in the swimsuit issues?

There is an upside to that though

There seem to be a lot of hot celebs in their 30's and 40's these days. (Funny how I hardly noticed that twenty years ago). I guess I've developed an appreciation for attractive women who look like adults and not teenagers.

In addition to the three above a few of the hottest include: Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson, Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Alba, Milla Jovovich, Michelle Rodriguez, Reese Witherspoon and my personal favorite:

...1969?! Wait a minute, that can't be right. She hasn't been around that long has she?

Getting older isn't all bad even if I can't figure out the grey hair thing. I mean why does it have to start turning grey? That's such a boring color. Why can't it change to something cool? Oh well...

Every day after you're born, there are fewer people older than you and more people younger than you. So get used to it.
