The existence of Socrates (470-399 BCE) is not in dispute. It is unfortunate that he chose not to write (so as to be consistent with his philosophy), but there is sufficient documentary evidence from his students (Alcibiades, Antisthenes, Isocrates, Xenophon, Plato) and other contemporaries (Aristophanes, Gorgias, Critias, Euripides, Sophocles, Diogenes, Prodicus) that he existed.
Okay. And what about the Gospels? Were those made up? There are many accounts of the life of Jesus. Do you doubt the existence of the disciples, Pontius Pilate, etc?
1. The Gospels are clearly fictional from the literary techniques used -- 3rd Person Omniscient perspective, parallel structure, foreshadowing. They're all derived from (or a response to) the Gospel of Mark, which is a rip-off of Homer's The Odyssey (seriously, compare the events side by side -- the same things happen in the same order). 2. There are no contemporary accounts of his life or death. 3. All sources prior to the 3rd Century are disputed by some scholars as later Christian forgeries or insertions (like Josephus, where the passage containing the Testamonium Flavium makes a lot more sense if you take it out). And besides that, the 1st and 2nd Century references are REALLY weak had. 4. 6 of Paul's letters are known to be complete forgeries by scholars and the rest containing known insertions by Christians to settle theological disputes in the early church.
The church began on the Day of Pentecost, fifty days after the Passover when Jesus died and rose again. The word translated “church” comes from two Greek words that together mean “called out from the world for God.” The word is used throughout the Bible to refer to all those who have been born again (John 3:3) through faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus (Romans 10:9–10). The word church, when used to reference all believers everywhere, is synonymous with the term Body of Christ (Ephesians 1:22–23; Colossians 1:18). I dont believe in the bibles claims. I believe that its pampered.
Well I think it's obvious that Jesus existed. All the supernatural stuff was obviously not real. Did you know that Jesus wasn't the only one claiming to be the Messiah at that time?

Jesus had schizophrenia too. Why do you say he didn't exist?
There is no proof of him so i rule him out
There's no proof of anyone. How do you know Socrates existed?
But good call on the schizophrenia. How did you come to that conclusion?

So how did the Christian Church get started then?
It started when a group of delusional christians got together and decided to create a place of worship
Where and when did this take place? Do you believe that the disciples/apostles were real?
