Lets Be Honest About Why Kim Davis Went to Jail

Kim Davis is not in jail for being a Christian. She isn't. She is in Jail for Dereliction of Duty. She had a job to do. She refused to do it. That is why she is in jail.

Is she a Christian? Yeah, but not a very good one when it comes to marriage.

Lets be honest, it isn't that she actually gives a fuck about the sanctity of marriage. She just doesn't like gay people. That's it, she doesn't like them and doesn't want them to be married and you know what? That'd be okay if it was just her but she is a public official who was essentially forcing everyone else to abide by her beliefs.

It's my personal belief that Kim Davis will face some sort of punishment in the afterlife for what she has done for being a bigoted asshole, while plenty of non-religious gay people will be rewarded for being decent human beings. However, if someone forced her to abide by that belief that'd be a crime. Kim Davis is forcing HER BELIEFS ON EVERYONE ELSE. Which funnily enough while everyone says this is about religious freedom, she is the only person who is actually violating others religious freedoms.

Lets get down to brass tacks about this,

You don't hire a pacifist to be a soldier

You don't hire a vegan to be a butcher or fur trapper

You don't hire a communist to be an investment banker

So, doesn't it make sense that if her job violates her religious beliefs, then she needs to find a different line of work?

No, Christian persecution is beginning. It says so in the Bible, in the end days people will think they are doing God's work by persecuting Christians. She was put in jail for her beliefs. It is not black and white like some say. I don't think her actions should warrant jail time. If her personal convictions will not allow her to perform her public duties, then she should be relieved from her position. She isn't a threat to society, and doesn't need to be caged in a cell. Prison is for those who pose a physical or financial threat to society, not for those that don't believe in homosexual marriage. Just find someone who can perform the job with no problems, and let that be the end of it.

Just do your job and be quiet. It's not your personal soapbox; if you feel you can't do it any longer, you have to quit.

However, it wouldn't really matter; if she had gone home and said that she didn't like issuing licenses for same-sex marriage on social media, she would've been absolutely eviscerated and likely fired, anyway. Freedom of speech only exists if you toe the liberal agenda line. Saying "I don't support same-sex marriage" in public is NOT a good idea... these so-called tolerant left-wingers are VICIOUS.

@Intraluminal LOL Perhaps. Doesn't really matter, though.. For 90% of the cities in this country, we know what the reaction would be. And the Texan stereotype is dying rapidly, as Dallas is a very young city and getting younger, and the overwhelming majority of younger adults are WAY left.

What gets me is the nastiness of the liberal crowd, the vicious, hostile look in their eyes if they even THINK someone doesn't like gay marriage, or something like that. It's frightening as hell. We also know what would happen if you tried to promote one message over the other in a public online forum, or God forbid, tried to get it into the media...
