In a video published by the progressive news outlet The Young Turks, reporter Emma Vigeland approached a Trump supporter to ask her why she thinks presidential candidate Joe Biden is a socialist, and her answer was quite a thing to behold.

Vigeland asked the woman, who was sporting a red MAGA hat, if she thinks Biden is a socialist.

“Yes,” the woman replied.

“How would you define socialism?” Vigeland asked.

“I define socialism — when you bring down your own country, your own race, because he’s not black,” the woman responded, referring to Biden.

Vigeland tried to get her to clarify what exactly she meant.

“He doesn’t he look at himself in the mirror?” the woman said. “That’s what I look at. Hey — you talk about the white people? And look at you! And you know why I don’t like him? I’ll tell you why I don’t like him. He’s got a big ego. He thinks he’s better than God.”

At that point, Vigeland reminded the woman that Trump once said he could shoot someone in the middle of Fifth Avenue and not lose one voter, but the woman insisted the quote was “fake news,” despite the fact that video of Trump’s words is all over the internet.

“He did say that,” Vigeland said.

“No he didn’t,” the woman declared.

“It’s on tape!” the TYT reporter reminded her.

“Nope. I don’t believe it. Nope — that’s fake.”

You bring up a fair point. I imagine when people think of socialism they instantly jump to the conclusion of "redistribution of wealth". That in turn brings up one's desire to protect what they have gained.

The important distinction is more on the economic level, as socialism seeks to own the means of production, distribution, and exchange under a community as a whole. That usually means little to no free markets or heavily regulated markets. To say x is socialist because goverment funds x program doesn't entirely make the statement true.

The US has now way too much socialism like Social Security, Media Care, Medicaid, which is being supported by W2 workers. Money is being forcefully stolen by treat of JAIL from workers by the government which is then redistributes their money as to where they want to to buy votes. Workers need this money to support their families, not support somebody elses family.
From Socialist you hear tax the rich, that will never happen, money is stolen by government socialists from hard working blue collar and middle class and that is realistic, until you run out of their money and that will collaspe an entire country economic system.
If you truly want to empower people and bring up peoples standard of living you need to get rid of any kind of socialism and watch what happens.
Keep in mind less government is always more you and your family.

Tragically, it is not ignorance for lack of opportunity but a chooser ignorance to blind themselves to the underlying truth about Trump: he IS a “common man” or “populist man-of-the-people.” But only in so far as his ardent base of supporters is concerned. The fact is, a “common man” shouldn’t be running this country (or even serving anywhere in its ranks). Do they deserve to be forced to serve your needs? To fully understand any dynamic, you must boil it down to it's simplest form. So let's say there is one student, one teacher, and one archon, or ruler, or president or prime minister or whatever you wanna call this person who claims to have jurisdiction over both of you.

According to you, you would ask the archon to point his gun at the teacher and force him to teach you. Do you understand that this is morally wrong? Now if you have money and you offer it to the teacher, and he accepts the offer and agrees to teach you, that is morally correct.

Do you understand or do you need me to go further? Wealthy people don't deserve anything, neither do you, but if you make someone an offer and they agree to it, then that is fine.
