Pecs? on men

How come some men have pecs and some don't? Genetic or you have to workout your chest? Men do you try to have them, or not like having "breasts"? Girls: pecs hot or not?

The short answer is every man can make their chest muscles bigger or more toned (defined) to a point.

Genetic:

-number of muscle fibers

-proportion of muscle fibers (e.g. fast/slow twitch red/white)

-natural levels/potential of testosterone (and other hormones)

Choice:

-size of each muscle fiber (working out or cell volumizers like creatine)

-maintenance of muscle fiber sizes (continuing to work out)

Big chest muscles can make a guy *look* bigger but only after looking into his eyes do I know if he's really a big guy. I respect big guys. Some of them have big physical bodies; some of them don't.

To answer your question, to a small degree do I try to have them (I don't ignore chest exercises) but to my entire physical body in general I place low priority.

You have to work to develop pectoral muscles. The only way that you can develop a chest is by working those muscles, or by getting man boobs (through obesity or medical condition).

But I just read a story about this boxer that got shot and killed and atlanta-he was in shape obviouslly cause he was a boxer-but had no pecs-he was flat

"Being in shape" is different than working specific muscle groups. You can be in shape but not have big traps, for example. Likewise, a boxer could be in great shape but not develop his pecs specifically.

Personally, yes. But not too much. I like having defined pecs, but I would never want them to the point where they're overdeveloped or protruding. That's a little too much for me.

i doubt its genetics, all the guys that I know that have nice pecs go to the gym a lot, and guys with pecs! DEFINITELY ATTRACTIVE, BUT I LIKE GUYS WITH TONED ARMS MORE...

They're okay. I think some stomach fat is really cute, cuter than pecs.

guys with great pecs work hard for them. That's the difference between guys and girls with great bodies. Girl can be born with great or crappy bodies but can't work to fix them. All guys are born crappy bodies but can work to make them great.

Big pecs take years to build over time by spending lots of time in the gym .

Pecs are def hot! They don't have to be huge but I def like some muscle there :P

and girls can actually build up "pecs" too. Pecs is short for Pectoralis which is the name of the chest muscle

I think it is a combination of genetics and working out. I'm not really a fan of big pecs, I like arms more.
