Do you think introverts are more likeable and better people in general?

Do you think introverts are better? I so far have never seen a female whom I could find attractive and was an extrovert, they are always interested in activities that I dislike, such as partying in discos and bars rather than doing... Well, anything else really. Extroverts are also more likely to smoke cigarettes, and bitch at you because they don't understand why self-destructive behavior isn't a necessity for you. And they treat you like a freak. I have never been understood by an extrovert, the only thing they did was criticize me behind my back and in my face. I wouldn't date extroverts, I can't trust them. Extroverts are more likely to cheat, too. There is no positive aspect.

Has anyone else experienced this? That you could make only introverted friends? Do you also think that introverted people are better people in general?

I have always known I was an introvert but I didn't want to accept it at first. It took some time but now I embrace it proudly. My best friend and I tend to have little spats about every other thing. I've always known that it was because our different ways of thinking. She doesn't think about half the stuff I do, and to a certain extent. I tell her that the reason we are always arguing is because I'm a introvert and she an extrovert and that we have a different way of thinking and going about things. Her response was "No I'm an introvert too and you just like to argue". Note that she is my ONLY friend, she has many other friends and hold the characteristics of an extrovert. A simple explanation just turned into another spat. Sometimes while arguing, I get to point where I start to think is this friendship even worth it.

I've had some extroverts as friends and was one of the best. My main thing is that, it's like she won't accept my way of thinking. my opinion is asked for then it's thrown out the window.

I am an introvert and have been bullied by extroverts, so it may be biased, but I somewhat agree. My friends are a bit of a mix, but the people I used to be friends with that used me were full on extroverts. So in general, I have not had much luck with extroverts, but that doesn't mean there aren't nice ones out there, they just aren't in my school apparently. I just hate how introverts can be called creepy like some of the people on here say. I don't know what kind of people you're talking about, but just because you're quiet person that doesn't go crazy and party all the time doesn't mean you're a creepy stalker that watches everyone from the sidelines. And the definition of boring varies for different people. What you find boring may be what may others find entertaining.

While I must admit I'm glad someone partially agrees with me, it also makes me disappointed that someone else had to suffer from the bullying that all those "overly social" and "talkative" extroverted people do merely to assert their superiority in order to feel that they're doing the right thing. If anyone disagrees with what they do - choking on alcohol each Friday night - that invalidates their views, it means there's a chance they're wrong. WE CAN'T HAVE THAT...

Extroverts are scary, I can't trust them with this in mind.

I agree. No one should have to go through bullying because it affects your trust. I have major trust issues, and have trouble socializing because I'm always scared of being abandoned or rejected. The friends that have used me haven't helped either. It's just horrible that a type of person can hurt someone so badly that they're afraid to trust again.

Being an introvert or extrovert has no correlation with that kind of behavior. I have known many people with that kind of behavior and they are in almost equal numbers of introverts as extroverts. Personality really depends on the person and what they have been through. You probably have met the wrong kind of introverts in the process.

I met the right kind of introverts, and probably the wrong kind of extroverts. Extroverts always just harrass me.

That's the thing though. You cannot generalize in that sense. Obviously there's the "right" kinds in both categories like there are the "wrong" types. But there's good people who are introverts like there are extroverts. You cannot say that all extroverts are mean.

I just did, although I sense that that statement might be incorrect. But they always look at me in disdain, I don't know what else to think.

That's possible. I'm basing it on primary and high school experiences as afterwards I learned that I should avoid them whenever possible.

You can't just label extroverts and introverts like that based on primary and high school experiences. If you do that, you're misjudging a whole group of people based upon a portion of them. That mentality can really hurt you in the long run.

I'm living life, I'm just not really interested in self-destructive behavior, and being exposed to risks such as an unlimited number of strangers who can effectively murder me for no reason whatsoever. Which is why I'd prefer not partying and drinking myself to oblivion, surrounded by potential criminals as they themselves have partially demolished their own minds.

You don't have to engage in self-destructive behavior to be an extrovert. You just have to be outgoing.

Outgoing people mostly indulge in self-destructive behavior, drinking alcohol smoking weed doing acid I don't know all that jazz. I know mostly extroverts getting involved in that stuff because they're the ones who are "interested in experiencing life" even if they break their own perception in the process.

Fun and exciting when they tell you how weird you are for not finding alcohol consumption interesting and then act like you're not a human being, start relationships based on looks in a day and then bitch about how their partner doesn't make them "feel like a woman" -.-
That sort of crap is also something I've only heard leave extroverts' mouths.

I am an introvert, but most of my friends and people I'm around seem to be extroverts, including my BF... I get along fine with my BF because we are both sort of in the middle of introvert/extrovert... he's just a little bit more extroverted and I'm just a little bit more introverted.

Then you must be very introverted on the spectrum... when I go out with my BF to a social event it works because he does all of the introducing and I don't have to work as much... so I like that part.

On the Myers-Briggs personality system in which you have the 16 types from INTJ to ESFP, all N-S, T-F, J-P have been around 40-60%, so that's somewhat hard to figure out, although most of the time I got INTJ, although to be honest nowadays one would think I'm more of an INFP.

However, my introversion rate was 80% or higher. I am absolutely not an extrovert, and I used to get a lot of shit for it. It took me a while, 20 years, to realize that I'm not the one at fault, that I don't need to adhere to people's bitching just because they're bitching at me.

I'm an INFP too. Yeah... your introversion is pretty high... mine was like 51%... but my BF is an ENFJ, which is the most compatible type for me. I think it's harder being an introvert sometimes... there seems to be more extroverts

I don't think that being an introvert or extrovert makes anyone better than anyone else. It comes down to your personal preference and what you like to be around. I'm a mix between the two. I like to go out and be social but I'm probably more introverted in that I like to stay in more often and I really value my alone time. I need to have time to myself so I can recharge.

no. a likeable person is a likeable person. i know plenty of asshole introverts as well as extroverts. and really great extroverts as well as introverts.

Most introverts I've met were empathetic and nice, while the extroverts were assholes. If anything, the only asshole introvert I know of was me, and that was as a means of retaliation because all extroverts ever did to me was lie to me and laugh at me behind my back.
