What's the average age for first gf/bf (or anything like that)?

I was just wondering at what age most people have their first girlfriend/boyfriend? And how did it happen?

I'm 16, I don't know any girls my age and I don't spend any time around girls except my family (I go to an all boys grammar school). To be brutally honest, and sorry if I offend anyone here, I'm quite terrified of girls my age. Theyre always hanging out in groups and some of them just sound mean from what I've heard. I can get quite shy (especially around new/loud people) anyway so it's probably more on me.
I really don't see myself getting a girlfriend in the near future... although it doesn't bother me an awful lot tbh :)

I was 14 when I had my first boyfriend, but I think 16 is a better age, because you take things more seriously and you're not really a kid anymore.
I know girls can be scary. We have the same sometimes with boys, but we're not all that bad. I recommend you to talk to a girl who wears very little make-up or non at all and wears casual clothing. Why? Experience.

I had my first bf when the summer after 7th grade. It only lasted about a month and a half though. I think its just because not many guys really go for me/my type of girl though. Depends on the persons views and when they think is best.

I've seen some as young as 14 already dating. I think 16-18 is alright. My bf told me that he was absolutely terrified of girls before he met me and he's 16.

i think a good age is anything under 30 and above 15

15-16 it's ideal, in my opinion, even if it's nothing serious. Or it shouldn't be, anyway.

So should I be doing more to expose myself to new people and get out there? Because with girls I'd basically have to start from scratch and meeting new people get me really nervous. I'd probably just stand in the corner- it's much safer there :)

No. Don't start searching for someone just because people around you are involved with somebody. I can tell your from experience that nothing good will came out. The right persons appear at the right times. I had dozens of crushes and flirts and "semi" relationships, but if it wasn't meant to be, then that's it, I waited some more. And yes, In the end, I found the right person, and it was million times better knowing I didn't thrown myself out there form desperation.

My first boyfriend was when I was only 14! I think people should definitely wait until at least 16 though, when they're more mature
